Harvesting My LAST Batch Of CARROT

in HiveGarden3 months ago

My LAST Carrot Harvest!

From seeds to carrot, follow along! Waaay back in early spring, I planted many carrot seeds for three different varieties: Danvers 126, Little Fingers, and a Rainbow Carrot Mix. I overseed (too many in one Grow Bag) and as they get crowded, I begin to thin, by picking and using the tiny carrot in sauces and soups. This is my LAST carrot harvest for the 2023 season.

Please let me know in the comments, do you grow your own Carrot? What kind? Let me know, below!

My gardens are in Zone 7a/7b. Thank you, Global Climate Change.

Most of you know, I prefer to grow my own food, locally. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking, planes, trains, and boats, to get fresh foods to my table.

And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.

You do have very juicy and beautiful carrots! I tried to grow carrots some years ago. Only the leaves were busy but I couldn’t find any carrots!😂

that's a lot of badges you got! congratulations, and your carrots look delicious too! I bet they are so crispy!

They are!
I used some tonight in our salad. Best thing is, home grown taste so much BETTER than the store bought

yes, I can relate to that, veggies sold these days are full of pesticides

I prefer to know what is in my food.

You are right on track. Growing your own food is the best nowadays as there is too many chemical in the outside food. Your carrot looks so fresh, I am certain it will be sweet too

Very sweet and I KNOW what I put in my garden... prefer not to use chemicals

Congratulations on your last carrot harvest for the 2023 season! It's impressive to see your journey from planting the seeds to enjoying the final harvest.

Your commitment to growing your own food locally is truly commendable, and it's great to hear how it benefits both your family and the planet.

I is always such a good feeling feeding my family with food I grow on my own.

I have no idea about growing carrots, but I want to try now that the weather here in the middle east is quite cold.

in cooler weather Carrot does better. The carbohydrates becomes sugars, stored in the orange, root. THAT gives carrot it's sweetness.

wow! Thank you for this wonderful information! I promise I will plant carrots! I hope it will success! ^_^

Just remember, LOOSE soil to plant in. Carrot is a root vegetable and the carrot grows along then thin root. Loose soil means nice growth

Thank you so much! ^_^

Bang, I did it again... I just rehived your post!
Week 184 of my contest just started...you can now check the winners of the previous week!

Wash right before use 👍 We haven't planted carrots. Its on our list of veggies to find room for...

always good to plant it in VERY LOOSE soil.
Very fluffy loose. AND have your Misses wave, when the drone captures the seed sowing.

Growing carrots is one of my dreams, unfortunately it can't be done on our climate here in our region.
