Big news!!! On July 1st, the Garden Journal challenge and the wrap up will be published from here instead of @riverflows personal account. Originally run by @simplymike, the #gardenjournal challenge invites many people to join in and show off their gardens in the hope for a little reward, an upvote, a reblog and eyes on their account - as well as to enjoy other people's gardens and the engagement, which is often the biggest incentive!

The main reason for the move is because @riverflows - that's me, writing now - can't always do the #gardenjournal challenge, but since it's become a fixture of HIVE and something everyone really looks forward to, I'd really like to be able to pass the baton to other gardeners to do the challenge when I can't.

I'll still be sending out rewards from my personal account no matter who is running the challenge. I'm totally invested in this iniatitive on Hive, so don't worry, I'm not going anywhere!

🌼🌼🌼 An Opportunity to be Part of the Team

🌼 Can You Help With the Garden Journal Challenge?

I'd love to hear from anyone who might be interested in doing the wrap up posts, particularly next year where I'll be away a lot and won't always have time to do them. The basic template will be done for you, and you'll just have to do the wrap up just like this one or add your own personal spin on it.

You can set yourself as beneficiary for the wrap up, recieving any post rewards for your hard work. You do need to have excellent English and a good track record on Hive as well as an understanding of how these types of challenges run. You'd need to be punctual and accurate, and follow the provided template formatting - all easy once you know how.

🌼 Would You Like to Publish A Community Challenge, or Other Initiative Through The @gardenhive account?

I'd love to hear from anyone who has some great ideas for our community and would like to get involved. It's a great way for people to get to know you and contribute to the community and greater Hive.

Remember the main function of this community is to encourage and support gardeners on Hive! As you know it can mean the absolute world for people to feel included and supported, no matter what community they choose to be in.

Currently, this is what we publish from this account:

🌿 The Creative Garden challenge - 15th of each month
🌿 The Garden Journal challenge - 1st of each month
🌿 The Garden Journal Wrap Up- around the 8th - 10th of each month
🌿 Leofinance Best Gardener of the Week Author Polls - every Friday
🌿 Bi weekly (fortnightly) newsletter by @minismallholding

We occasionally post the Garden Shed curation collection, although haven't for a while. There's certainly room for some more publications. The image thumbnails and footers would be provided for you. You'd get full beneficiary or can distribute the beneficiary as you like.

Here's a few ideas - you might have your own ideas or could adapt these. They could be published weekly, fortnightly, or once a month.

🌿 An Organic Gardeners column, showcasing organic gardeners on Hive but also offering current practice, ideas and methods.
🌿 A Flower Power newsletter, showcasing the best flower growers, varieties, tips and so on.
🌿 A newsletter specific to a particular type of garden - eg agriculture, tropical gardening, hydroponics, aquaponics, cannabis, food growers, and so on.

If you have an ideas or you are interested, please send a message to @riverflows on Discord - riverflows#4691.
