One of the best things to happen on HIVE this year, in our humble opinion, is this Hive Gardeners community. We're small, but we are magnificent! I always say you can't go wrong if you're friends with gardeners.
All year I've been collecting the garden selfies in a folder on my desktop, and now it's Christmas, it feels like a really lovely thing to do to share these in a gesture of appreciation for you all!

Dear @sanjeevm has battled bad weather for most of the year in India, but still is philosophical with his approach to gardening. He always manages to strike a pose whether it's lamenting over dying plants, pulling out bamboo, or enjoying a hug from his long suffering wife who tolerates his obsession with plants. Thanks @sanjeevm, for being part of this community!
Next it's @edprivat, who posts the funniest gardening posts you will read on this platform. This year was all about pulling potatoes, which he still seemed to do even in December!
Even @livinginuktaiwan managed a selfie or two. Here's one hiding behind a plant.
We can always rely on @thebigsweed for a gorgeous gardening post. As the old gardening joke goes, you can't beat a beet! If you missed the hilarious photo of @thebigsweed with a bucket on his head collecting walnuts, let me know in the comments and we might just find it for you.
Of course, we also have to thank dear @farm-mom, the other half to this gardening, DIY, poem writing, photo writing darling. @farm-mom holds her own, that's for sure - and we love them both!
@kennyroy is also a legend of the gardening world here for his consistant efforts in the UAE. From pumpkins to beans to chayote, he's your man. My favourite fact about him is that he's scared of lizards, even though they eat the bugs in his garden.
Dear @owasco actually moved house and garden this year! Here's her with a nice pear. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere but I can't quite manage it. We all loved seeing the progress of her garden and can't wait to see what takes shape in the next house!
Here's the lovely @cesar21 - did you know he bought his spades with HIVE? Isn't that incredible?
Now, dear @buckaroobaby lost her HIve keys this year, and her oven, and battles the elements on her farm in South Africa, and refuses to do a face to face selfie, but I had to include the back of her head here, because that counts, right?

Dear @proto26, how we appreciate your plant obsessions and creative selfies! Your humour and love of plants is jsut a delight to read.
Dear @nikv, of Succulent Garden fame, is pictured here with her garden knife. I think? I don't know. Maybe it's just her being kick ass as usual. How she deals with the harsh weather, cats and the like I just don't know. Obviously, because she's awesome!
Now if @plantstoplanks (and her partner in gardening grime, @dksart) isn't shopping for vegies at the local market, cooking veggies, or growing veggies, she's striking a super hot pose with them. And these are the crazy vegetables that are perfect for a selfie - if no one else has got joy out of these crazy things this year, her and I have! She's donated 50 HIVE which we're putting toward the Crazy Gardener Selfie shot, so make sure you plan something for the Febuary challenge.
Then there is the unstoppable @goldenoakfarm (pictured in the middle). How she finds the time none of us will ever know -but if you ever need advice on anything, summon this powerhouse of homesteading life!
Then there's @jonyoudyer, of Canna-curate fame! The #weedcash gardeners are some of the most enthusiastic on HIVE, and of course we have @skylinebuds to thank for setting up the community for us all in the first place.

Some great selfies that reminded me of warmer days. The way time passes, it won't be long before we're digging in the dirt again.

Brilliant!! You forgot that we lost our solar inverter - I would say that is worse than hive keys in our life. Struggling to get up and running but glad that I didn't miss this. You're right @riverflows .... quite a magnificent community the dirty nailed, innovative and entertaining group of gardeners
The 'dirty nailed' club - I love it! As gross as it sounds, it's definitely us. And yes, we're not just plant geeky, we're entertaining as well! Oh yes, your solar inverter! But you are still here, and we are so grateful for that!
