Since those roots are shallow, I needed a pickaxe to dig a furrow in the soil as deep as possible and then carefully place the pumpkin plant there. Cover it with the soil I'd previously removed, leaving the end of the plant uncovered.
It's worth noting that I've already done this on one plant, and to be honest, I haven't noticed any major changes or growth, except that the leaves seem to be a little larger and, at the same time, a little greener. Afterward, I took the opportunity to water it a little since the sun had been strong.
So I say goodbye to my friends in the #HiveGarden community with this brief update on how my pumpkin plants are growing to participate in the 2025 challenge, sponsored by my friends @der-prophet and @hive-world-champ, as well as trying out techniques to achieve the best possible results.
We plant squash too. But I bet squash wants hotter weather. Because we have to garden in the shadowy area and under the hot sun. In the shadowy area there are very few squash
I hope you get good results this time. Creeping plants are difficult to treat because of their small and fragile roots. Best regards.
Remove the weeds for better growth of the plants.

You really gave a lot of effort for your pumpkin plant and I think that is very nice. Using the pickaxe is not easy but it shows how much you care for the roots so they can grow stronger. Even if you don’t see big changes yet the greener and bigger leaves are already a good sign that the plant is adjusting well. Sometimes plants grow slowly on the outside but underground they are making strong roots. I can relate to what you shared because my brother also has the same kind of plant.

Ah, so covering the stems with soil could result in higher yields. That's exciting, I'll try that next year too.
I wish you continued success.
