Hello dear friends of #hive, especially to the #HiveGarden. Receive all a happy and blessed day 😊. In this opportunity I have come to bring you a post about my experience planting auyama or better known as pumpkin in other countries 🎃. As many of you may know, one of my hobbies and activities that I am most passionate about is planting any kind of plants 🌱. Since I was little I have planted all kinds of plants, from fruits, vegetables and even once I tried a potato haha 😂. This because as my granny loved plants and had a lot of them, I always helped her and went with her to plant them 👵🏻. I liked to use all the gardening tools she had and be aware of her watering periods and prepare soil with waste and worms.

I continued planting because for me when I do it, it is as if my grandmother was still with me helping me and that is why it has become an exciting and fun activity in my life 👵🏻. Well, continuing with the pumpkins. For this process I used pumpkin seeds, which I extracted from one that my Mom had bought to make a soup 🥣. I took out about 30 seeds and put them to dry for a while in the sun and waited for a while ☀. When these were already dry, I started sowing them in a small plot I had prepared behind my grandmother's house 🌱.

I dug at least 15 holes with 1 foot of separation between them and a depth of about 10 cm and started placing the seeds 2 by 2. 🌱 When all the seeds were in their positions, I covered the holes and these were watered. Since it was very rainy during this period of time, I didn't have to be so vigilant about watering the seeds and little by little my auyama plants came out 🌧. What I did have to do was to remove the weeds that were growing in or around my little vegetable garden 🌿. After a few weeks my auyama plants were already growing and later the yellow flowers that characterize them 🏵.

After a while, the plants had covered all the ground 🍀🍀🍀. I was monitoring them so that they didn't pass the limits of their plot and among the lush greenness of those vines and leaves, at least my first 4 auyamas 🎃. I was so excited, but I didn't cut them and we waited to see what would happen. My auyamas when they started to turn a little more yellow we pulled them out and cut them. Of which my Mom made a auyama cake, my favorite and auyama soup too 🥮 hehe.

They were tasty, big and with a lot of pulp. 🤤 Their seeds, I sowed them again to continue producing in my little vegetable garden hehe 🌱🍀. It was great to see how everything grew so fast and what I got from only about 30 seeds. Come to think of it, it would be a good idea to plant patilla (Watermelon) and some other things hehe 🍉. Without further ado, I hope you liked my post. All the best and have a great day 😉 Bye, see you next time.
