They don't actively catch them like the Venus fly trap. They say it lures insects with the smell inside the pitchers and the insects slip when they walk on the inside of the pitcher.
I've never seen it happen, but I did see 'substance' in the pitchers, which might indicate a dissolving insect.

Interesting. I was wondering if they would eventually die if they dont get an insects living indoors. But it sounds like yours is thriving so 👍

They do get nutrients from it, but I never fed it myself.
I did notice some debris at the bottom of the pitcher, what could indicate an insect has fallen in.
But maybe I will feed it some insects this year. But I have to wait until the pitcher opens up.
