Overview of my garden

in HiveGarden2 years ago

In anticipation of the gardening season, which has almost begun, because some of us have already sown seeds for seedlings, I want to tell you about my garden zone.

As in many other areas of our site, the main thing was to find an idea. It is the idea that should tell you what shape and size to make the beds, where to place plantings and other elements.
Memories from childhood helped me. My grandparents had a small garden next to the house, where a garden table and a bench were hidden among raspberry bushes and tomato bushes. Nearby stood an iron round barrel of water, which was used for daily watering.

When grandfather came back from fishing, all the neighbor's cats and cats met him in the garden. It was there that the cleaning of the fish took place, and often the small fish got to the cats.
When it came time to equip the garden, I immediately decided that in the far corner of this zone there would be a table with a bench, and bushes of white and red currants would grow behind them.
In order for the set of garden furniture to stand stable, we laid out a small patio with granite paving stones, completing it with a stone slide on one side.

There are six rows in total. Usually one or two of them are occupied by garden strawberries, on others I plant greens, root crops and legumes, combining and changing the planting pattern every season.

On the left is a honeysuckle bush
To make the garden beautiful, the beds are surrounded by a mixborder, in which two honeysuckle bushes grow at the same distance, gooseberries and another currant bush, this time pink. In summer, I plant letniki between the bushes, sometimes potatoes and onions.
I always add annuals to my beds, planting them with seeds in open ground. I like how evening is combined with garden crops - bicorn mattiola. It does not tolerate transplanting, so I just sow it immediately into open ground from the side of the wide edge of the beam beds.

Weed control in full swing
After a few years, weed control becomes more and more difficult, because gradually the gravel mixes with the earth and debris, the weeds take root and weeding takes more and more time.
But still, I'm happy with the gravel paths in the garden, they add an English flavor.

At night we close the greenhouse, but during the day the windows and doors are open in the sun, then you can not be afraid of various troubles with tender tomatoes.
Traditionally, every year the greenhouse is decorated with dahlias. Until late autumn, bright multi-colored bushes delight the owners and guests of the site.

Last year, a convenient workplace appeared in the garden area: the gardener's table. We made it ourselves from a wooden beam, lining, several boards and the rest of the metal profiled sheet from the fence.

I am very pleased with this building. I store in it the things necessary for every gardener that should be at hand. On the bottom shelf are buckets and watering cans.
