As I told you in a previous post, I launched into the adventure of planting tomatoes both in pots and directly in the ground.

In this post I will tell you about my experience of growing tomatoes directly in the ground. Like everything in the world of gardening, harvesting tomatoes brought me many joys as well as valuable learning.
I began my adventure by preparing the soil. I carefully chose a sunny and fertile spot on my land to open holes in the soil where I placed the small seedlings.

With patience and dedication, I took care of the tomato plants in the ground day by day. I provided them with adequate water, protected them from pests and gave them the love and care they needed to grow.

Weeks passed and I saw how my tomato plants began to grow vigorously. It brings me great joy to see new leaves growing every day. The stems grew stronger and the leaves became green and leafy. The nutrient-rich soil provided them with everything they needed for healthy growth.

As the days passed, flowers began to appear on the tomato plants. And so, little by little, those flowers turned into small green fruits. The magic of nature began to work and those fruits slowly grew, gaining size.

The tomatoes continued to grow and colored one by one as they began to ripen, it was quite a show of colors that I was happy to enjoy.

Finally, the long-awaited moment arrived: the tomatoes grown in the ground were ready to be harvested. I marveled at the sight of the large, juicy tomatoes hanging from the plants. They were much larger than the tomatoes I had previously grown in pots and that excited me even more.

Comparing planting in the ground with the previous planting and harvesting in pots, I learned a valuable lesson. While potting was convenient and allowed more control over growing conditions, planting in the ground provided the tomato plants with more space to develop and absorb nutrients more efficiently.

Harvesting our own tomatoes connects us with nature and teaches us to appreciate the growing process of the food we eat.

It also allows us to enjoy fresh and tasty fruits, grown with love and care.

Del huerto al plato: Cosecha tus propios tomates en tu jardín

Como les comenté en un post anterior, me lancé a la aventura de sembrar tomates tanto en maceta como directamente en el suelo.

En esta publicación les comentaré mi experiencia de cultivar tomates directamente en la tierra. Como todo en el mundo de la jardinería, la cosecha de tomates me trajo muchas alegrías y también valioso aprendizaje.
Comencé mi aventura preparando el terreno. Escogí cuidadosamente un lugar soleado y fértil en mi terreno para abrir agujeros en la tierra donde coloqué las pequeñas plántulas.

Con paciencia y dedicación, cuidé día a día las plantas de tomate en la tierra. Les proporcioné el agua adecuada, las protegí de las plagas y les brindé el amor y el cuidado que necesitaban para crecer.

Pasaron las semanas y vi cómo mis plantas de tomate comenzaron a crecer vigorosamente. Me produce mucha alegría ver cómo le nacen nuevas hojas cada día. Los tallos se fortalecieron y las hojas se volvieron verdes y frondosas. El suelo rico en nutrientes les proporcionó todo lo necesario para un crecimiento saludable.

Con el paso de los días, las flores comenzaron a aparecer en las plantas de tomate. Y así, poco a poco, esas flores se fueron convirtiendo en pequeños frutos verdes. La magia de la naturaleza comenzó a obrar y esos frutos crecieron lentamente, ganando tamaño.

Los tomates siguieron creciendo y se fueron coloreando uno a uno, a medida que comenzaban a madurar, fue todo un espectáculo de colores que tuve a dicha de disfrutar.

Finalmente, llegó el momento tan esperado: los tomates cultivados en la tierra estaban listos para ser cosechados. Me maravillé al ver los tomates grandes y jugosos que colgaban de las plantas. Eran mucho más grandes que los tomates que había cultivado previamente en macetas y eso me emocionó aún más.

Comparando la siembra en la tierra con la anterior siembra y cosecha en macetas, aprendí una valiosa lección. Si bien la siembra en macetas era conveniente y permitía un mayor control sobre las condiciones de crecimiento, la siembra en la tierra proporcionaba a las plantas de tomate un espacio más amplio para desarrollarse y absorber nutrientes de manera más eficiente.

Cosechar nuestros propios tomates nos conecta con la naturaleza y nos enseña a apreciar el proceso de crecimiento de los alimentos que consumimos.

Hola amiga, que grandioso todo ese trabajo y estar allí pendiente de toda esa siembra y sobre todo poder cosechar y disfrutar de cada unos de esos frutos, donde el tomate requiere de mucho cuidado, pero una planta de esos te puede dar mcuhso. Éxitos.
