June continued with hot days; yesterday we recorded the highest temperature of the year, it was 39 degrees Celsius.Luckily it rained this morning and cooled down to a bearable 30 degrees. It will be a really difficult summer when days with high temperatures are combined, there is a lot of evaporation and a lot of humidity in the air and there is no wind anywhere. We say about those days that time has stopped.
When it's this hot, watering is a must for plants to survive.
At these temperatures over 35 they stop growing, they are just surviving.
That's why I put a shade net on the peppers and tomatoes.
Although this year is difficult for peppers.
Despite all the effort, they are progressing slowly.
But the zucchini have gone wild, since we water them and they have enough water, we have to pick them every day.
Since the sun was getting warmer, we had to pick the red onions too, even though they were a month early.
In fact, the entire harvest was moved earlier
We still have leeks left in the garden ,garlic, silver onion and red onions we picked. And since it is not completely dry, we string it on a string and leave it in a dry place, where there are drafts.
It stays there until winter, more precisely until the first frosts, then we lift it to the attic.I just have to rearrange it now, this is how it occupied the whole shed
Carrots hold up well, even though we planted them in a mound, regular watering helps them not to dry out.
The fig tree has recovered well from the spring frosts
And with regular watering it is progressing well, we will see if it will bear fruit, and last year it was late in bearing fruit
I love radishes, but they are not for this warm weather. Even though I know that, I planted them
They are now growing long and not very tasty.
I will have to wait for a little cooler weather to plant another one.
The potato leaves are almost all dried up.
We don't water it, but we don't worry either, we took it out almost half.
We like young potatoes, so before they even have time to grow, we eat them.
We harvested the green beans, or rather, we picked them from the garden, it wasn't much of a crop, but the yellow beans are awaiting our third harvest and we think we'll pick them now.
The blackberries are doing well, and so is the apple tree. I planted it this fall, I bought it at the nursery.
We don't plant dill ( Anethum graveolens ), it's in bloom now, when the flower fades we just shake off the seeds.
And next year when we work the garden we just make sure not to cut it down
Tomatoes are doing well in the shade, unlike peppers ,we'll see.
That would be all for this warm June report.
Thanks for reading.
Until next time, stay healthy.
Look at those onions and garlics! They grew well and produced good harvests!
It seems that zucchinis grow well in your place. They also bear much fruit and often. Don't you want to join the pumpkin challenge?
Yes, there was a good onion harvest
Don't you want to join the pumpkin challenge? What a challenge? I can't keep up with everyone :)

If you find it interesting, you may start ypur preliminaries and follow @hive-world-champ to join.
The finals will be on Dec. 31, but you need to consistently post an update of your pumpkins. It's still a long way. Actually, I am just about to transplant my pumpkin seedlings since I started from scratch after our neighbor's hen devoured my first 30 seeds in the seedling pots.
Thanks for the notification
