November wait...

in HiveGarden10 days ago

It's mid-November and I still haven't prepared part of the garden for winter sowing.
I console myself that it's not my fault, but the rainy days made the soil difficult to work.

But today my neighbor contacted me and said that he would come to break up the soil with a motor cultivator. We weren't home, but he did the job because a few days earlier I had explained to him where I wanted to place the greenhouse and the part for winter sowing.
He did a good job but I see that there are a lot of weeds that I need to pull out.Maybe because I didn't plant anything near the entrance. But I think we've hit the mark, because the grass has already started to sprout in this area.

Winter has already begun, even though it's autumn. Foggy mornings or frost. It rains or just pours all day.
I'm planning to prune the fruit trees for February.
Now I'm waiting for all the leaves to fall off the fig tree so I can plant the saplings. I think I have three or four new shoots, and I'll plant them all. Maybe next week.

20251116_123804.jpgI tried to prepare the soil where I'm going to plant the young fig trees, but it's still wet, it's too sticky, and I just rammed it down, I'll wait a few more days.20251116_123855.jpg

Today I got to the nursery, they're in season, so they're open on Sundays, and I bought four raspberries and a persimmon tree.
Last year, my persimmon tree dried up due to the extreme heat. But I won't take it out until spring, and it seems to me that it has a chance to recover. Since we got home late in the evening, we couldn't plant it right away, so we put the raspberries and the persimmon tree in a bucket of water and brought it into the house, so that the frost wouldn't damage the roots.

Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.

November has made garden work challenging but you’re still making great progress. Your neighbor’s help with the soil was a blessing and its exciting that you already have fig shoots, and new persimmon tree already to plant. Soon the sun will return and your garden will grow healthy more.

Thank you
We're still waiting for the cold weather, but that's okay :)
