Today is the last day of October, autumn has taken hold
these days I am occupied with leaves . although I am waiting for a larger amount to fall off so that I can collect it .
I add one part to the manure pile and burn the other part .
Since it is a whole science which leaves are good for what , But mostly all leaves extract nitrogen from the soil so I try not to overdo it in adding to the manure .
Although that ash from lychee as well as from wood can be added to the garden.
You also should not overdo it with ash .
In my yard, a lot of leaves have fallen off the apricot trees, but the hazelnut trees haven't even started to fall yet.
But that means we'll have to haul the toys out of the yard too.
But my son is making it difficult.

I'm actually waiting for all the leaves to fall off the trees, for the plants to go into dormancy. So I can start transplanting the saplings.
And pruning the fruit trees.
I do that in November or February, depending on the weather conditions and how much time I can spare for it.
I plan to install the greenhouse for the second half of January.
So I currently have more free time in November. But probably something will already be planned for work in the yard, garden...
Cabbage is currently in season here, but we don't sow it.
Probably next year I'll decide to do it too.
Autumn roses have bloomed.

More free time, more thinking :)
What are you doing in November in the Garden?
The question is both for us what is autumn and for you what is spring.
Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.

Leaves are GOLD for the compost pile. But yes balance is important.
I grew the best cabbages ever this year. I've been making cabbage pancakes which is 1 cup of flour, q egg, water into a batter (also some cornflour optional, say 1/4 cup) , lots of spring onions and chopped cabbage, a can of tuna and a handful of grated cheese. Form into a pancake and fry 5 minutes each side... So good. We like ours with chilli and soy sauce. A bit like a Korean vegetable pancake.
While I'm reading your response to the post, my wife is asking me to translate and write down the recipe for her :) She knows a little English and the recipes never escape her notice.
Thanks for the recipe.

November is also a busy month in our garden. While you’re preparing for winter, we’re getting ready for spring here, I spend most of November clearing old plants, checking which seedlings survived the rain and adding compost little by little. Your plan for pruning and installing the greenhouse sounds exciting.
Do you really have a problem with the rain?
Typhoons?
