What is a pineapple fruit?

Pineapple scientifically known as "Ananas comosus" is a large sweet fleshy tropical edible fruit with a terminal tuft of stiff leaves; widely cultivated.

How to take care of your pineapple

Pineapples love warm, sunny conditions. Keep it at warm room temperature, they are able to absorb some water through their leaves. They do not need a lot of water, so wait until the soil has dried out before watering, and then water the leaves and soil. If you found your pineapple with Yellow leaves and blackening at the base are due to overwatering. This can kill plants, but it's worth trying to save it. Take the plant out of its container, removing any affected roots, and pot it up in fresh compost. Don't over water from then on – the soil needs to be moist but not soft and watery.
Pineapple plants are spiky and difficult to handle, they grow low to the ground requiring workers to stoop over the plants, and the monoculture production method requires that there is no shade over the plants.

Thanks for great teaching about how to grow pineapple ( Ananas comosus). I know the suckers and crowns are good planting materials. I enjoyed this teaching and the kind of benefits they give to our body. I love the benefits of being antioxidant and fighting against diseases. But, I don't have any allergies taking pineapple. My only challenge is the fruit being expensive here to buy by the average Ghanaian. Thanks for your teaching.

They are growing really well !! they look really strong and healthy!
