After a long time away from the hive, I returned almost two weeks ago. After getting married I was busy with work every day so I only had little time to play on the internet.
However, the feeling of missing my friends at the hive will certainly pave the way for me to return here. One of them is @riverflows and #gardenjournal, a senior who has given me a lot of lessons and experience here, even though I haven't been as successful as him. Maybe this is about perseverance and discipline within us.
OK, I will share a little story this afternoon which I think is a little interesting, not about my story, but the story behind the life of an old farmer who was with me.
The woman's name is Antikah, she is my aunt who has been my neighbor for decades. She has been a widow for more than ten years, she was left by her husband with two children. His life story is very heroic, he struggled to survive and raise his child alone.
His only livelihood is as a farmer and occasionally as a laborer on other people's plantations. This afternoon I went around the house looking for mushrooms and insects to use as photo objects, suddenly I saw him busy working on cleaning his new field.
In fact, this land belonged to someone else, but because the owner was not using it, he asked to use the land for farming, as well as helping the owner to maintain the place so that it was not filled with bushes.
Previously, this place had been used as a chili and cucumber garden, but because the owner was rich, this garden was left alone until it was overgrown with bushes. Aunt Antikah plans to plant chilies, tubers and other vegetables. Apart from consumption, he also usually sells his agricultural products in small markets around him.
Seeing he working alone and exhausted, I finally gave up looking for mushrooms and chose to help he clean the garden.
Even though I'm not experienced enough in gardening, I can do it if I just clear the land and hoe the soil to plant tubers. Aunt Antikah is over half a century old, being a hard worker is not something she is suited to do, but unfortunately the bitterness of life forces her to work harder and be more diligent, otherwise she could starve.
She is a kind old woman, the people around her really love her and often help her daily life. Because I helped he hoe, he repaid my kindness by giving me some of the cayenne pepper he had harvested in the garden.
Even though it's not much, the good intentions are enough to make us understand that giving doesn't have to wait for more, because if you give a little it will be a blessing.
I asked permission to harvest the chilies myself, not many chilies were produced in the garden, I think it was due to lack of care because he didn't have the money to buy fertilizer and pest poison, so the chili trees curled and turned yellow due to pest attacks.
While resting, we talked a lot about his amazing life story. I really like hearing other people's life experiences. From his tired face we can see how cruel life was to he.
There's not much I can do apart from helping him clear the land and being a place to confide in. I hope that the harvest of chilies and tubers can be maximized and be able to help the economy every day.

Is this a cassava?
That's right friends, those are cassava stems that have been cut to be replanted. in short, it's cassava seeds. 😂
I see, cassava seeds (^_^)
Thank you for the response.
I love the cover pictures - you two are really working hard and the chilis are so vibrant. Best of luck to you both!!
