Hello dear garden lovers. I continue to share with you the developments in my hobby garden. In the last post, I said that the weather has started to dry and the need for watering has increased. I also announced that we got our first cucumber. Now, we go on from where we left.
Sevgili bahçeseverler merhaba. Hobi bahçemdeki gelişmeleri sizlerle paylaşmaya devam ediyorum. En son gönderide havaların kurumaya başladığını ve sulama ihtiyacının arttığını söylemiştim. Ayrıca ilk salatalığımızı da aldığımızı duyurmuştum. Şimdi kaldığımız yerden devam ediyoruz.
First of all, I have to start here. This week, the view of our hobby garden was extremely colorful. It might not look colorful enough as I had to take the photos in the evening, but there are flowers and roses blooming everywhere.
Öncelikle şuradan başlamalıyım. Bu hafta hobi bahçemizin görüntüsü son derece renkli idi. Fotoğrafları akşam saatinde çekmek zorunda kaldığım için yeterince renkli görünmüyor olabilir ama her yerde çiçekler ve güller açmış durumda.
The rose trees we planted last year bloom again every year and enchant us. These roses are one of the most special parts of our garden. We have roses in many colors such as white, red, purple etc. When I enter the garden, the view of the roses and the energy they add to the rest of the garden are astonishing.
Geçen yıl diktiğimiz gül ağaçları her yıl yeniden açıyor ve bizi mest ediyor. Bahçemizin en özel kısımlarından birisi bu güller. Beyaz, kırmızı, mor vb birçok renkte gülümüz var. Bahçeye girdiğimde güllerin görüntüsü ve bahçenin kalanına kattığı enerji hayran bırakacak cinsten.
Apart from this, the fact that the number of leaves and flowers of vegetable plants has increased, makes our garden look full. Cucumbers are very overgrown and are constantly blooming. We were able to collect one or two kg of cucumbers this week. The peppers are also ready to be picked. We were able to pick a few peppers this week, but the growth of the peppers is not really good. We haven't made enough progress with peppers for two years. I think pepper plants don't like this soil and I'm starting to think we have to find another way.
Bunun dışında sebze bitkilerinin de yaprak ve çiçek mikatrının artmış olması bahçemizi dolu dolu gösteriyor. Salatalıklar çok büyümüş durumda ve sürekli çiçekleniyor. Bu hafta bir-iki kg kadar salatalık toplayabildik. Biberler de toplanacak duruma geldi. Birkaç tane biber toplayabildik bu hafta fakat biberlerin büyüme gelişimleri gerçekten iyi değil. İki yıldır biberler ile ilgili yeterli yol alamadık. Zannediyorum bu toprağı biber bitkileri sevmiyor ve başka bir yol bulmak zorundayız diye düşünmeye başladım.
I would like to give very good news about tomatoes, but unfortunately it is too early yet. As you know, the previous weeks passed far beyond the seasonal normals. Normally, towards the end of June at the latest, the rains would end and high temperatures would begin in Turkey. July and August are very hot and sunny, so vegetables would produce in these months. However, the rainy and cool passing of this year until the end of July has also upset the balance of our plants. Especially tomato seedlings were adversely affected by this situation and they were very late in fruiting. At the moment, the yield of tomatoes in our hobby garden is not normal for the end of July. On the other hand, although the air temperatures rise late, I think the tomatoes will still develop and turn red. I think that with the increase in the number of flowers, we will be able to collect products from tomatoes.
Domatesler ile ilgili çok güzel haberler vermek isterdim fakat henüz çok erken ne yazık ki. Biliyorsunuz önceki haftalar mevsim normallerinin çok dışında geçti. Normalde Türkiye'de en geç Haziran ayının sonuna doğru yağışlar biter ve yüksek sıcaklıklar başlardı. Temmuz ve Ağustos ayları çok sıcak ve güneşli geçer, bu yüzden de sebzeler bu aylarda ürün verirdi. Fakat bu yıl neredeyse Temmuz ayının sonlarına kadar yağışlı ve serin geçmesi bitkilerimizin dengelerini de bozdu. Özellikle domates fideleri bu durumdan olumsuz etkilendi ve meyve vermekte çok gecikti. Şu an hobi bahçemizdeki domateslerin verimi Temmuz ayı sonu için normal değil. Öte taraftan her ne kadar hava sıcaklıkları geç zamanda yükselse de domateslerin hala çok gelişeceğini ve kızaracağını düşünüyorum. Çiçek sayılarının artmasıyla da domateslerden ürün toplayabileceğiz diye düşünüyorum.
Now let's get to this week's surprise. My surprise sunflowers. As you can see from their tall stature, our sunflowers have become the cornerstone of our garden. They can be seen even from afar with their yellow color. These are the plants that color the garden the most, along with roses. We will collect the sunflowers after they reach a certain maturity and use the seeds inside as food. It is a very productive plant. I advise all garden lovers to grow sunflowers.
Şimdi gelelim bu haftanın sürprizine. Sürprizim ayçiçekleri. Uzun boylarından da anlayacağınız üzere ayçiçeklerimiz bahçemizin köşetaşı olmuş durumdalar. Sarı renkleriyle çok uzaktan bile belli oluyorlar. Güllerle birlikte bahçeyi en çok renklendiren bitkilerimiz bunlar. Ayçiçeklerini de belli bir olgunluğa geldikten sonra toplayacağız ve içerisindeki çekirdekleri yiyecek olarak kullanacağız. Oldukça verimli bir bitkidir. Tüm bahçeseverlere ayçiçeği yetiştirmelerini tavsiye ederim.
