What A Blessing We Received!

in HiveGarden5 days ago

8 months ago, our daughter found this most unique colour of Cockscomb (Celosia argentea var. cristata) and decided to buy home to surprise us regardless of the occasion, and it is in rich beautiful yellow.

Unfortunately we forgot to take a nice picture of it and by the time we remembered, it was already started to wither.

Our daughter decided to spend time and harvest all the seeds of the blossom and set it aside until we have another nice pot, but her dad, as clueless as usual, decided to just throw it into a vacant pot.

Of course when you have a bunch of seeds on shallow soil, the baby sprout were both growing too quickly and withered as fast as well due to hot sun and shallow soil.

But the good thing is that Rene managed to save one, and nurtured that one survivor until it started to accustom to the big pot it was in.

Up and up it grew, and you can see how thick its truck is! Our daughter always kept saying, "this is such a happy flower!" and she was not far wrong from her statement!

We tried our hardest to take a better pose but with our unsteady hands, it isn't very obvious because it is out of focus; but you can see how beautiful it is forming.

Our daughter said that we should trim the big leaves so that it can have more sunshine and bloom bigger. Maybe we will ask her to do it during the weekend.

To good health always! Happy weekend HIVE readers!

Wow! that one little seed survived and grew into such a strong, happy flower. Your daughter’s care and enthusiasm really shine through 😅 that must feel so rewarding lol hehe 😄👏

Rene did all the caring most of the time. 😅
But our daughter did not give up on the plant, that was correct. And we look forward to harvest the 2nd generation seeds from this happy plant when time comes.
Blessings to you

That's really a nice flower...blossoming flower..
You're daughter also loves flowers, thats good.

We used to live in a small village house when our daughter was growing up, and we used to have a lot of flowers. We are just praising God for the miracle that a partially covered from sunlight balcony could still produce enough sun for this happy plant.
Blessings to you

I completely understand that emotion, because seeing a plant grow and bloom is so close to our hearts.

That is so true. We are so excited. Our daughter trimmed most of the large leaves because she noticed that even the trunk has baby blossoms coming out. We hope the sun will keep shining so that it can bloom all over, like a magic tree of full blossom. 🌼
Blessings to you

This is the first time I have seen such a huge stalk of "Gai Goon Fa" cockscomb!
Your daughter is right! This is a healthy happy flower indeed!

Yes, we are so happy to see it grow, so tall!
Rene as to stand on a tiny stool just to take the picture of the flower. 😮
Blessings to you,
Philip and Rene
