I bought bulk netting and frost cover cloth, cut and hand-stitched to fit over my row-covers frames.

We had a windstorm this last Wednesday, 12/15/21; the winds were up to 50 miles an hour, I had a shade cloth over my greenhouse bare frame, and I staked it behind the chicken's house. The wind used the shade cloth as a sail and picked the whole thing up and over my chicken fence. I wanted to move the frame there anyway. I removed the shade cloth and flipped the frame over on its feet, and next time, I'm sinking my stakes in cement!

After replacing the clips in the high wind six or seven times during the day, I pulled the covers off so they wouldn't blow into my neighbor's yard. No worries about my collards, kale, lettuce, onions, cilantro, radishes, and Japanese mustard didn't freeze. Our weather has been in the 60s and 70 degrees the last two weeks. It looks like no snow for Christmas!

It only took around 15 minutes to cover and secure my homemade raised bed frost covers!

Tomorrow I'm buying some cement and gravel to set my tent stakes. I hope we don't get any more wind storms here in Oklahoma. I guess hope is for the hopeless.

it looks like the garden is still safe and intact.
i must be scared if i see the cover is blown up by the wind.
we hardly has any strong wind here in my place.
You are blessed to live in a calm place. Tulsa Oklahoma is prone to tornados, I'm from Oregon, and I am still figuring out how to make sure my stuff doesn't blow away 😆😂😂😂
I love the netting, I might as well put nets on my vulnerable vegetable crops.
I have found that netting keeps the bugs away, and I also use nematodes and neem oil. I love my plants ❤️
Bugs are my problem in my vegetable. I think I am going to try putting a net on them.
It's good to hear that your area is not badly effects with that 30-tornados & bad weather & nice to see you recovered your garden after that incident!

We live in an area with hills that break up wind patterns; however, once in a while, we will have tornadoes touch down in Tulsa. There are areas where I won't buy property because they regularly get hit by wind storms. Up North, Kansas is taking a beating!
I think your garden won't spoil by the strom wind, though your area and region is very much affected by nature strike, hope everything will be fine and next step will be complecated with any hassles.
Keep us I'm your prayers Spring can get crazy 🌪️ thank you🙏
It was smart of you to cover your plants. We had storms that day as well in Iowa and were out electricity for 2 and a half hours. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you have backup heat we don't. I want to install a fireplace next year but people are buying freestanding fireplaces like crazy. Hopefully there will be some left when I start my new project. Stay warm🤗
Wow! How is everything? Your area was huge! I know that small house! Its storage area! I saw that in an advertisement! ^_^ Is that made of PLASTIC FIBER?
