Such is the global nature of HIVE that I've gone a bit weird with the cover image this week - it's Autumn in the northern hemisphere, whilst it's totally Spring here in Australia!
I adore this photo by @mamrita which shows a gorgeous sunrise in Germany and the lovely autumn leaves. It wasn't strictly a garden journal post but I thought it was worth sharing, don't you think? Do drop your autumnal photos as a comment below for a chance to win a HIVE tip!*

What's been going on...
There was some sadness as @scribblingramma reflected on her summer garden, and how age and illness may prevent them doing another garden next year. I think we all face that at some point, but I hope we manage to keep our hands in the soil somehow, even if it's a pot or a small raised bed.
@cesar21 walked us through his basil sowing - I planted LOTS of basil too as in my opinion you can't have too much basil, amirite? @oscarcede is doing the same, but with coriander - my other favourite.
Nice to see @craigcryptoking in the community, sharing jacaranda trees - aren't they stunning?
@kennyroy has started growing chayote - looking forward to seeing how mine grow too. Apparently they used to be quite common in Victorian backyards but fell out of favour at some point. They're gaining popularity again now. Do you grow them? What are your tips?
@manoldonchev wrote a post about their garden complete with poetry and songs - you know when you're out in the garden and you are singing along? Their photos were also delightful!
Also loved the way that Manol signed off his post - peace and parsley! Yeah, right on!

I hope I can keep gardening as long as possible. An old farmgirl friend is 75 (I wouldn't have guessed, thought she was nearer 70) and has had some shoulder operations and breast cancer over the years, but was just saying she was a bit achey after crutching 24 adult sheep over the weekend. I guess you can't keep a farmgirl down for long.
'Move it or lose it', as dad says. He's still pushing a rake around, though he's moaning about it too. Let's hope we keep gardening til we are 105!

My wife snagged this fantastic photo in our recent trip! I absolutely love mountain lakes, especially in the fall with the super cool reflections! It was also interesting being up in the clouds like that, though it was a bit of a foggy day we were at about 1500 feet I think.
Gotta love the Parsley lol. We had about 6 basil plants in pots this summer, needless to say we have enough basil to last us the winter I hope!
I'm not familiar with Chayote I will have to look it up!

You have Spring?! Our bizarre weather thinks it's winter again. Keep hauling out the winter bedding...packing away.... taking out again. Worse: The fruit trees are taking strain.

Hm I don't know. Apparently they like it better like that. It could just be a cultural superstition but I still felt the need to mention it.
