Wow - it's extraordinary how fast it gets super cold there!! I guess you see it as gradual, but month to month for these journals the change is dramatic. My marigolds got hammered by wind at the same time I think - funny how you get attached to that bright colour!

Yes, I've really enjoyed the marigolds this year, they've added a lot of color to the garden.
The seasonal weather changes here in the upper Great Lakes region of the U.S. are fairly abrupt. One week it's in the 50s F, the next week it's down to freezing...
It tends to work that way in the spring also, temps going up instead of down.
