Hemlock can be really bloody dangerous - it causes blisters, particularly with kids who might be playing near them! Horrible stuff. Good you identified it.

As I said, I put on rubber gloves to pull them out. But I know the leaves brushed against my forearms. I have some prickly feelings on the skin on my arms but no redness or itching. Lucked out.
How does something like that end up in a closed patio? Birds? Craziness.
Birds and wind - some plants/weeds are excellent at spreading themselves!
