It'd be cool to make a living from this hobby, but I think I just love connecting to people through gardening - it's quite a community thing to do. I like to give away extra produce to family and neighbors - to me it's an act of connection and love.
Community garden is a very nice concept, if everyone in the community cares to grow and share.
Yes, I think it's nice if people share, even if it's not the same thing - for instance, my neighbour brought me two bales of lucerne hay the other day and I gave him some cucumber seedlings. He gave me half a bag of lemons someone gave him, and I messaged him to tell him I was getting two new chickens, and would he also like two? I feel very lucky. I hope to meet more people in town like that. I'm also picking up coffee grounds from a local kiosk.
