Thankful for the blessings that we humbly harvested in our school garden. A fruit of hard work that blooms in our garden and we will enjoy it right now.

The school implemented the Gulayan sa Paaralan project in which we were encouraged to have our garden. It greatly helps us, the students and teachers as well to eat healthy vegetables, fresh and with no use of chemicals.

Students were happy every time we can harvest something from the garden. They recall those times when we began to plant all of those. These were the plants that we have in our garden eggplant, ampalaya, string beans, lemon grass, tomatoes, pepper, lemon basil, alugbati, sweet potato, kangkong, spring onions, etc.

These were some vegetables, spices, and fruit that we harvested from our school garden on different days

Tomatoes and Sword Pepper

These were the useful spices for Tinolang Isda that give more savor to the dish. Just add it in a whole when your kids were eating with you but if you wanted to have a little bit hot, you can slice it in half and add it to the soup.

Okra (Lady's finger)

Okra is good when cooking vegetable soup or commonly known in Bisaya term "Utan or Utan bisaya". Soup with okra brings a slimy texture and it has also good health benefits.

Alugbati (spinach), sweet potato, lemon basil, onions, etc.

Mixed all of these will give us perfect soup, especially during rainy days. Sipping soup from these veggies will give strength to our bodies.

Malunggay ,tomatoes and Chinese Cabbage

Malunggay as well will give savory vegetable soup while Chinese Cabbage or kangkong can be cooked with a little bit of oil and soy sauce.

Spring Onions

I also harvested the spring onions. Some were given to the students so that they can enjoy them as well and some were given to the school so that teachers will enjoy them as well. Some teachers ask for some onions to plant for their gardens too.

Pineapple

I am proud to harvest my first pineapple fruit. I can humbly recall when I planted it in our garden and now we harvested it 😊. Sir Kim my co-teacher volunteered to harvest the pineapple. Happy to see when it was harvested and a nice feeling as well.

Self-Realization

The best feeling is when all your hard work had been paid off. If you have planted something, you sow something from it. A familiar saying that we can relate to our own daily life. You've planted something good, you will harvest good as well. Be thankful always for the blessings receive😊.

“Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later”- Og Mandino

That's all for now my friends. Have a fruitful day again and God bless.

One of the best feelings when it comes to planting is harvesting. If we will just put hardwork on the things we do, surely, we will reap something good out of it. Kadaghang harvest. Sulbad ng sabaw sa panihapon ani maam. Hehehe

Congratulations on a bountiful harvest! Seriously, I am jealous. How long did it took you to grow the pineapple? Is it easy to plant and take care?

It is indeed a bountiful harvest @indayclara in which students too will enjoy. I planted the pineapple last 2021 and this year 2023 is my first harvest. It is easy to plant this miss, just plant it with love and then no need to water it everyday. You can water it twice a week.

2 years diay? Waaaah. I will secretly plant pineapple for my parents to harvest when I am somewhere else na. 😂

Sana all kaayo momshe. Indeed, pag my itinanim mayroong aanihin. My good side din to report to school everyday para masustain ang pagbobo.

nka-ambit jd tawn ko gamay sa sibuyas. :)
