What a lovely post! And not only that, there is a small piece of wisdom hidden in there that I've been kinda thinking about.
Many of us Hivers like a degree of anonymity on Hive, or are shy of showing our faces. Not Hive Gardeners.
As for me, I have had the same profile pic ever since I started blogging on the blockchain six years ago. Then, when I met a bunch of fellow Hivers at the Web3 Berlin conference, I kinda thought that my pic was getting a bit old (not me, the pic!), and to avoid that happening again, I decided to try the trend some Hiveans started doing, and used a cartoon pic of Stortebeker.
Since then, I feel, my level of interaction has gone down. Not the votes or the reward so much, but the comments. Could this be the reason? Now I'm thinking about posting a more recent headshot, or going back to the OG, and leaving it as my defining image for the remainder of times...
I think we like to know the person behind the scenes. I liked your old profile pic better, that's for sure. I used to be shy about showing myself but less so now - I've felt a degree of acceptance here that's unparelleled elsewhere.
HIve price has gone down and people are busy outside in summer, so that could be it too.
I know, I also like to remind myself that everyone is playing outside all the time (haha, I wish), but the HIVE price seems to be recovering.
In any case, I put my old profile pic back. The decision was probably made a while ago, but you gave me the final push. I thank you for it.
