I was walking around this garden taking a few photos of the flowers that bloomed this week. I had my camera close to the Aubrieta blossoms when she suddenly scooted out from the flowers. I have to say, she made me jump back as I didn't know what it was at first.

If you look closely behind the Iris, you can see her coiled up against the purple Aubrieta. I never saw her coiled up there but apparently, she had her eyes on me.

I wonder if she is the same snake that I saw twice in the gardens last year. I know one thing; she has more than doubled in size if that's the case.

I told her wow, you have certainly grown, now I don't mind you hanging out but please let me see you clearly next time I'm working in the garden or taking photos. Hopefully, she got my message loud and clear, ;-) I decided that she needed a name, so I called her Sally. lol

Back to the flowers, this is my favorite of the Dwarf Iris that I have. I adore the baby blue and lavender veining. She is the sweetest addition to this garden in my opinion.

I had transplanted her into this garden last fall as it was growing practically underneath a peony. I was so happy to see it send up a stalk to flower this year.

One of my tree peonies have three large buds this year.

The color is so rich and beautiful with the yellow stamens.

All the globe Allium are in full bloom this week and I don't know how, but I have them showing up in areas that I never planted them. These flowers are all in the west garden that is underneath the Kousa Dogwood tree.
Next week, the Foxglove will bloom on some of the plants that I scattered throughout this garden. I have an entire flat of new plants that I need to find some space for. I can see that the Impatiens are doing well considering the cold temps since I planted them under the tree.

The last of the tulips have dropped all the petals and I cut back the stems to allow the energy to go back into the bulbs. I will see them again next spring.
That's it for today's updates as I need to get out and make up a batch of soil for some grow bags. I have Purple Sweet Potato slips that need planting. It will be a busy day in the garden now that the sun is shining and now rain, yay!

Wow, I let you take some good pictures. You have a beautiful garden, such beautiful flowers.
Thanks, Denisse the gardens change every week when the different flowers start to bloom. Have a great week my dear.
I enjoy when you share these beautiful photos with us.
You feel uncomfortable when you see a snake, I am extremely fascinated by them, they are beautiful in their own way and I like to paint them in a surrealistic way. It is a grateful form!
Many beautiful flowers!
I don't mind snakes, I just don't like being surprised, lol. I have seen your artwork with them in it, they are a beautiful aspect for sure. ♥
I am always reminded, whenever a snake suddenly appears as if beamed down from a starship, that I can still scream really loud.
Oh my gosh, that is too funny @owasco. Well, I jumped back but then had to have a talk with her. lol
If I was a snake, I'd be in that garden praising those flowers and I'm sure even Sally was taking her time off in your garden!
You really have a bunch of beautiful flowers blossoming and they are a pleasure to the eyes.
Thanks for sharing!
Awe, thank you for the lovely sentiment. Sally the snake really seems to enjoy my garden, two years in a row now she has been here. ♥
First off, beautiful garden, secondly, 😳
How are you able to stay so calm and get those photos. I'm super scared of those little critters
Thank you, well the snake just watched me closely and I her. I hope we came to an understanding that she was not to startle me anymore and that I would leave her alone. ;-)
Yup, the snakes startle you each time. I see some here and there on the farm. The water snakes are the biggest, up to 3' long and dark colored.
That little iris is so pretty! All your flowers look so lovely! I've not had the alliums migrate, but somehow I've got wood hyacinths under the azalea...
I remember water snakes from my youth when we would go to a large pond to swim out in the country. They were very fat and big for sure. This garden snake is quite long and fatter than last year. She has to behave and show herself, so I don't get startled all summer. lol. It still stumps me how those darn Alliums show up all over the garden. I dig them up and there they are again. Ugh!
Those aubrieta blossoms, the peonies and the tulips are just so gorgeous!
But Sally startled me, I guess if I were you, I would run my ass away as fast as I could lol I'm afraid of snakes but I think Sally looks good in the garden, this is the first time I have a closer look of a snake's skin as I have always been afraid of them. Well, it didn't look awful as I thought.
The flowers look happy and well taken care of. Kudos! Happy gardening!
