Gardenjournal After the first rain./ Nach dem ersten Regen.

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great start to the week and spent the holidays well, so here the first-fruit festival has really kicked in and I'd like to present you with a garden update. We had a fun guessing game with the pictures where everyone on the server could guess which young plant was in the picture, which was great fun. Of course it has also rained more in the last few days, but these are the pictures straight after the first rain and as we have high humidity at the moment, this is by far the fuel the plants need to be properly boosted in their growth.

Hallo zusammen, ich hoffe ihr hattet alle einen tollen Start in die Woche und habt die Feiertage gut verbracht, also hier hat sich das Erstlingsfrüchtefest richtig bemerkbar gemacht und ich möchte euch ein Gartenupdate präsentieren. Wir haben ein lustiges Ratespiel mit den Bildern veranstaltet, bei dem jeder auf dem Server raten konnte, welche Jungpflanze auf dem Bild zu sehen ist, was sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat. Natürlich hat es in den letzten Tagen auch mehr geregnet, aber das sind die Bilder direkt nach dem ersten Regen und da wir derzeit eine hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit haben, ist das bei weitem der Treibstoff, den die Pflanzen brauchen, um in ihrem Wachstum richtig angekurbelt zu werden.

Every time I look at the field and it gets greener and greener, it makes my heart smile, and the thought that something like this can grow from a tiny grain is simply marvellous. Not to go completely off topic, but something I thought was important to tell you about is a lecture about a physicist who talks about the decay of Christian values.(Unfortunately, the lecture is only available in German.) He explains how the laws of nature are anchored in the Bible and that man is the only species that has become a different species than it should have been. And how important it would be to adapt to the laws of nature that govern this earth and to live in harmony with it, like paying a tax that was called into existence by those who permanently and continuously separate us from the laws of nature. But well, on to the vegetables.

Jedes Mal, wenn ich auf das Feld schaue und es grüner und grüner wird, muss ich lächeln, und der Gedanke, dass so etwas aus einem winzigen Korn wachsen kann, ist einfach herrlich. Ich will nicht völlig vom Thema abschweifen, aber ich möchte euch einen Vortrag eines Physikers ans Herz legen, der über den Verfall der christlichen Werte spricht. Er erklärt, wie die Naturgesetze in der Bibel verankert sind und dass der Mensch die einzige Spezies ist, die eine andere geworden ist, als sie hätte sein sollen. Und wie wichtig es wäre, sich an die Naturgesetze, die diese Erde regieren, anzupassen und in Harmonie mit ihnen zu leben, wie eine Steuer zu zahlen, die von denen ins Leben gerufen wurde, die uns permanent und kontinuierlich von den Naturgesetzen trennen. Aber nun gut, weiter zum Gemüse.

As you can see here, the potatoes are already coming out of the field with a mad rush and as they don't exactly grow in a row, there's a lot of moaning because, as I told you in my previous post, a tractor-drawn heaping machine is supposed to heap up the potato plants. Because the men's toy is a priority here and you just want to do it, I can totally understand that. We'll see, but the potatoes grow just as they want to and what the machine hoes it hoes and what it doesn't, I hoe by hand, if it doesn't break them, which would of course be a great pity. 😅

Wie man hier sehen kann, kommen die Kartoffeln schon mit einem wahnsinnigen Ansturm aus dem Feld und da sie nicht gerade in einer Reihe wachsen, gibt es eine Menge Gejammer, denn wie ich in meinem letzten Beitrag erzählt habe, soll eine traktorgezogene Häufelmaschine die Kartoffelpflanzen aufhäufen. Da das Männerspielzeug hier Priorität hat und man es einfach machen will, kann ich das durchaus verstehen. Wir werden sehen, aber die Kartoffeln wachsen so, wie sie wollen, und was die Maschine hackt, das hackt sie, und was sie nicht hackt, das hacke ich von Hand, wenn es sie nicht kaputt macht, was natürlich sehr schade wäre. 😅

Here we can see the first carrot greens, which really took some time, because I had to clear everything of weeds first, as the carrot greens were not visible at all. The weeds naturally spread like a plague over the whole field and spread quickly, depriving the right plant of important nutrients and energy to grow properly, which reminds me again of some Bible verses. LOOL

Hier sehen wir das erste Möhrengrün, was wirklich einige Zeit in Anspruch genommen hat, denn ich musste erst alles von Unkraut befreien, da das Möhrengrün überhaupt nicht zu sehen war. Das Unkraut wuchert natürlich wie eine Seuche über das ganze Feld und breitet sich schnell aus und entzieht der richtigen Pflanze wichtige Nährstoffe und Energie, um richtig zu wachsen, was mich wieder an einige Bibelverse erinnert. LOOL
Jesus und das Gleichnis vom Unkraut auf dem Acker, welches sich nicht auf Pflanzen sondern Menschen bezieht. Hier auf dem Gartenacker macht das Unkraut auch nur Mist und deshalb muss ich es weg zupfen.

The onion green has no problems with the weeds, it is so strong that it is not affected by them, but the small ones, especially the root vegetables, have a hard time here, so I prefer to climb over the field once more and weed it rather than ignore it.
The beans are also growing very well, the right-hand side here a little better but still in all its splendour, I gave them rock flour, which I think they really liked. The chard has also had a good dose of it and is developing really splendidly, as are the lettuces and radishes.

Das Zwiebelgrün hat keine Probleme mit dem Unkraut, es ist so stark, dass es ihm nichts anhaben kann, aber die kleinen, vor allem die Wurzelgemüse, haben es hier schwer, deshalb klettere ich lieber noch einmal über das Feld und jäte es, als es zu ignorieren.
Die Bohnen wachsen auch sehr gut, die rechte Seite hier etwas besser, aber immer noch in voller Pracht, ich habe ihnen Gesteinsmehl gegeben, was sie, glaube ich, sehr mögen. Der Mangold hat auch eine gute Dosis davon abbekommen und entwickelt sich wirklich prächtig, ebenso die Salate und Radieschen.

The kohlrabi also had a really difficult start, because the weeds covered the poor thing so much that I couldn't even see it, I had to go over the field with an eagle eye to recognise what was planted there and where this vegetable was without pulling it out with me, some plants didn't take off, which is why I'm growing a few more at home to fill in the gaps. I did the same with the cucumbers, which lifted the soil after just 4 days and now look like this.

Der Kohlrabi hatte auch einen tüchtig schweren Start, denn das Unkraut überlagerte den Armen sosehr, das ich ihn nicht einmal sah, ich musste mit einem Adlerauge über den Acker um zu erkennen was ist da gepflanzt und wo ist dieses Gemüse ohne es mit rauszuziehen, einige Planzen sind nicht angegangen, weshalb ich zu Hause noch mal ein paar vorziehe, damit die Lücken gefüllt werden. Dasselbe habe ich auch mit den Gurken gemacht, die hier bei mir nach 4 Tagen schon die Erde anhoben, und nun so aussehen.
