The sky is really putting on a good show lately!!
I’m very thankful that I can keep documenting it and sharing it with you all!
I planted some more strawberries in the “teeth” bed. I created this growing space not long ago, and made the rocks look like bottom teeth protruding up from the earth. I adore how it turned out!
Anyway, after I planted the additional strawberries, momma duck and her babies had the BEST time rooting around for worms and insects! They didn’t hurt anything, and they were just so excited about it!
There were some massive worms in the soil I used, so no wonder the ducks were so thrilled!
This other soon-to-be-momma duck has been sitting on her eggs for a few weeks now, I suspect that we shall see some more little ducklings popping out of their shells soon!
It’s been a beautiful first year here on the homestead, many ups and downs, but I’m really forward to the summer months! Newfoundland is best visited in July or August, that’s our peak summer temperatures and also the peak of berry picking season!
Which I really can wait for!!
It’s the actual most wonderful time of the year! LoL
Venus is back to being a puppycat, she didn’t care for the cold, and stopped going outside almost completely for a while there. Now, she’s back to following me as I make my rounds feeding animals, landscaping and planting seeds, being a puppycat!
I decided to try my hand at pressed dried flowers to use in projects over the winter.
I picked some daffodils, since I have about a billion in the side bed. Plus some leaves and other flowers to get me started. Hopefully these will turn out ok!
I’ve dried flowers plenty of times, usually by hanging them or just popping some petals in a big book, but this time I checked out some videos on different techniques and made a big attempt at a more professional look, stuff I’ll be able to use for art over the winter. I’m pretty excited!
Anyhoo! It’s a rainy day here, good time to catch up on artwork and house chores, hopefully I’ll have lots of seeds sprouting in the garden beds when the sun finally shines again!
