First Snow

in HiveGarden2 months ago (edited)

The night after returning from a week and a half stay in @clareartista 's old house in the city, I heard precipitation that didn't sound like rain and felt that it might be snow(ing).

I was right.

The next morning, when I looked out of the window, I was amazed to see how much it had snowed and how the landscape had been transformed over night.

It is now almost a week later and we have had a couple of sun hours every day, for a few days in a row.

Nevertheless, there are still some patches of snow left and quite a bit more than a few on what is clearly the coldest part of our land.

It is super interesting to observe our land and its micro climates, day by day, week by week, month by month, in every season.

This is our first Winter here and we are enjoying (almost) every single day of it, spending as much time outdoors, working in - and on - our garden as we can.

Snow is so special!

Enjoy the photos! :^)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow🎵
Honestly in my region at first days was so strong snowfall that cars were under the snow. But kids are happy, snowballs, slagging, snow walls, snowman and many other joyful things for then. We could to build couple snowmen with kids

Building snowmen is fun indeed. We were thinking about it but didn't get around to do it. We had two days with snow fall and then it slowly started melting away.

Thanks for your lovely comment!

oh wow! Looks so beautiful. I especially like the shot of the trail or road that I am assuming leads to your homestead. It is winter here as well, but we haven't received much snow at all in our part of the country. Still have plenty of winter left, so maybe we will. I hope it is as wonderful looking as yours.

The trail with the big old oak trees ( some of them near a 1000 year old ) does indeed lead to our homestead. I wish you guys get some snow too, later this Winter. Just the right amount to enjoy.

Cheers!

but you gotta play with snowballs don't forget!

snow once a while is cool, it suits well, and it doesn't seems too much there

We threw a couple at old folk in town.

They didn't call you bloody youngsters? 🤣

Haha! I was kidding, of course :<)

Beautiful.. A landscape transformed. Are you more comfortable there now? Hope you have a crackling wood fire!

A bit more comfortable indeed and we love our wee stove.

Always nice to know what the area looks like in all climates :) Did you manage to make the house more winter habitable?

A wee bit, yes. Check out Clare's post for a bit more info on that.

I enjoyed looking at your partly snowy photos. :)

Always happy to put a smile on someone's face :<)
