Welcome to a new post, dear Hiver!

This month I have also planted some future plants.

This is the second consecutive month of the year in which I plant some plant germinators for the garden.

I don't promise a Pinterest-worthy garden, since I have cats and a dog at home. So I have to protect the plants, which results in some messes in the garden that don't look very good.

I have had experience with ornamental plants. I have taken care of them carefully, and I have discovered some techniques to protect them. So I will use those same techniques in the garden. I already have several things in mind, so I will be carrying them out throughout this week.

As you will see, here is the first row of combatants. I will be transplanting them.

I don't know if you notice it but they are different plants. The darker ones are made from paprika, and the lighter green ones are made from chili peppers.

I planted them last month, they germinated and now they are beautiful plants.

While for November, although we are already finishing it, I have planted some others from seeds that I have collected at home throughout the month.

Some of them are...

  • Blackberries

In the background of the photo are two seed trays, forgotten in this gardening activity. They look like toys from Toy Story jajajaja.

I got almost fresh blackberries. Something that is difficult to find because they always sell them frozen.

From the tray of blackberries we bought, I took only two blackberries. And from them I obtained several seeds.

They are very small seeds, I treated them very carefully, without handling them too much and sowed them in this container that you see.

It is a peculiar packaging because it used a part of a light bulb that was damaged.

I didn't want to throw it away, mainly because I think it's good to reduce waste at home. I hate how you have no idea throwing things away and that there are too many bags because the thought comes to mind "you could have used something there to make something useful."

So I clean the containers and place them neatly in one place at home. Until I find a use for them.

Generally, most of the containers end up being germinators, and pots to reproduce plants. Which is useful, economical and saves me money per month. Otherwise I would have an incredible expense on pots because I love plants.

So now the blackberries are in recycled packaging. And let's hope they germinate because I live in a tropical state where it is extremely hot. However, we are in winter, so the little cold weather could help these plants.

  • Lechoza or papaya

Lechoza with z, milky with s. It is well written.

This is a soda container, I also planted it in two others. I love sweet, cold papaya from the refrigerator to eat in the afternoons. It's simply delicious!

But, I don't have these plants at home. I haven't been able to, my cats are a little naughty, but I trust that this time it will be different. I have a good feeling.

  • A flower bush

I usually collect seeds. Yes, I look like a bee, you could call me Miss Bee. But it's a custom.

Since I like plants, and I have learned to collect seeds, every time I see plants with seeds I carefully take some.

So on the street I have managed to find some. Sometimes plants in poor condition are uprooted and thrown away and I pick them up to realize that they made a mistake, because they were alive. Bits of plants in good condition that I can reproduce at home. Or, seeds, as in the case of this flowering shrub.

It will take a month or a little longer to germinate, so we will be very patient.

  • Orange

Why not?

An orange never goes bad. I have a lemon tree, another mandarin tree, so I need an orange tree.

I know it will take years to grow and give me oranges. Still, I don't care, I'll wait patiently, or whatever happens, other people will be able to enjoy it.

Let's hope they are such plant lovers and don't cut down the tree, or it would hurt a lot.

  • Cucumber and rocoto

And the new line of fighters.

I find it funny to call them that because they are on the ground, next to the cacti that protect them. Right in the same place where the chili and paprika germinators were.

Some go abroad to be transplanted, and other new ones are born, just like life.

Wish them luck, because I am very excited to pick my own cucumbers, and also make spicy with rocoto, which is a type of pepper but very spicy.

I don't usually eat spicy, maybe I will make spicy to sell in the online store, or to give as gifts to my friends. And maybe I'll keep a bottle or two of spicy ones to try from time to time.

As for the cucumber, I will even eat them for breakfast. They are delicious.

  • Avocado or palta

What country are you from?

Here in Venezuela we call avocado avocado. And well, here you will see 3 seeds. Today they are completely hydrating themselves in water. Tomorrow I will place them on the support so that they germinate in water.

Just like the orange will take time, I know. But, I also like the idea of thinking that I will eat them or someone else will.

In addition, taking care of a tree is a beautiful experience that I recommend to everyone.

And well, that's all for today. It has been a very productive day in the garden, let's hope everything goes well so we can eat delicious fruits from the garden.

Wish me luck and all your plants in 2026 are a success. Because? Because gardeners are very interesting people who only have love, and that's why everything germinates hahaha. Also because I will need luck with some plants. Thank you dear gardener friend!

I really enjoyed reading your garden update this month🌱 it is inspiring how consistent you are with planting, even with cats and a dog causing chaos in the garden haha. I also love how you reuse containers your idea of using a broken light bulb for the blackberry seeds is so clever. Practical and ecofriendly at the same time..

It's been a tough year with my pets, but I'm not giving up :)

Thank you very much for reading! I hope to continue recycling more things. :)
