Did ya miss me? I missed posting. I was recently on a family trip and had rather limited internet and technology access and now I am good to go with the daily posting, and have a back log of posts to make. So you'll be getting daily posts again for quite a bit. Exciting right?
For Sardine I had a few thoughts, what with them being a pizza topping but as I looked up reference images I decided I wanted to challenge myself and try to capture the feeling of a school of them underwater.
For the crafting of this artwork I began with working on getting the underwater feel.
And then worked in the ocean floor. Which I think already built in a sense of depth.
Then I filled in some fish. For the smaller further out ones I thought of it more as a texture rather than drawing individual fish.
Then I built up the second school some more.
Then added some more fish between the two and moving closer.
I was already pretty pleased with it at this point but kept building up the closer fish.
The the final step was to add more fish, and my signature.
This was a really fun challenge and if I were to develop it more i'd add more detail to the fish closest to the camera but when you're only giving yourself a day to draw something there are limits. Plus I was starting to get bored.
Thanks for stopping by!

Yes we do miss you and I know that you are not done yet with your "S" drawing challenge. It was a treat seeing something like that in my opinion I am glad to see you back.
This one is pretty clever I must say you are working with just one color that you vary the saturation of and achieved something great. You clearly know how that works and used it to your advantage. Nicely done
I learned a lot about using a limited pallete in this one. The saturtion is def a part of being underwater. I have learned a lot with this series of drawings, and there will be one for each day of Septmber...with some delay due to missing nearly a week.
After that I'm not sure. I would like to take some time to do some larger/morecomplex/detailed works perhaps.
welcome back my dear yeah we do miss you here how have you been?
Look at this beautiful underwater scene in blue and not the black and white one you previously showcased. You definitely have a lot of tricks in your sleeves. I am raving for the movement you created with these sardines I believe you captured their collective behavior quite well. One of my favorite from your collection
Well yesterday I didn't have power for over 12 hours yesterday ><
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been feeling like the challenge of arting everyday has really been helping me improve.
<>< My best fish picture :) Not sure why but this is a very calming image.
I find ocean images tend to be calming.
And that's. pretty fun fish :)
Color gradient at its finest. It would take me longer to pull that off. Those little fish with light colors gave this a nice and balanced composition you are truly an artist @artofkylin
