I stuck pretty close to this. And here's the lore I came up which kinda goes against the prompt a bit but it's just supposed to be the start.

LORE

There's many theories as to what smokewisps are. Some say they're the spirit of people who died in the forest and are drawn to the campfires of the living. Others say their the ghost of the fire itself. Yet others say they're the ghost of the trees who were burned in the fire. All of them are wrong.

Smoke wisps are young fire elementals who cannot yet manifest in other realms as full fires and come to the material realm through the embers of the fire. These young elementals are drawn to campfires both by the smell of people cooking and their conversation. These younglings are curious and love listening to campfire stories.

Now the process of drawing. Since I knew this was going to be a nighttime scene I started with a darker background. I started with a stone campfire ring, and the smoke creature.

The next step was to start adding colour.

Then some more. And then some minimilist trees.

I darkened some things to add to the dark/night ambiance.

Then I lightened it up again, and added stars.

Thank ya for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. :)

I love the lore looks like the younglings are really curious about humans. You captured the prompts really well. I also love the light effects coming from the campfire and it is reflected on the tree trunks. Thank you for being relentless I know this drawing challenge could be time consuming and for some might drain their inspiration and creativity like me hahahaha. But here you are serving as an inspiration to be relentless.

Thank you! I like the description relentless :)

I haven't done anywhere near all of the prompts but I'm really happy with how the drawing are turning out, and how much fun I've had.

This current one didn't take to much time, the next one I post will have though. ><
