Hey Draw A Day artists and members.
The main Frostfall Village Building Challenge is still ongoing, and we loved seeing all your beautiful artwork. But we know that long-term challenges can get tiring, so we thought we take a pause on the buildings for a minute and give everyone a fun, creative breather.
It's time for a brand new mini contest: the Frostfall Founders Character Design Contest. The goal is to design the very first five founding characters of Frostfall Village that make this snowy village feel warm and cozy.
Mechanics:
Design a Founder
- Choose one or more of the five official Frostfall buildings below and design the main character who runs it. A detailed description and some design hints provided to spark your imagination.
- You can enter as many times as you like.
- Every entry needs a short 1–2 sentence lore/description
The Five Founders Character Prompts
1. The Glowbug Waylight Keeper (Luminary Sanctuary)
On the tallest ridge of Frostfall, the Waylight Keeper lifts a lantern and the whole village looks warm with steady glow. Snow drifts around him as he walks the lantern path each evening, guided by his faithful moth companion who curls its wings toward the light.
Design hints: lantern staff, moth companion, bell chimes, halo shimmer, layered winter robes.
Inspiration Note: Glowbug is a sweet name for anything that gives off a soft, gentle light. It implies a cute spark vibe, and someone who lights the way without even trying.
2. The Toasty Hearthbrew Alchemist (Spice Sip Haven)
Inside the Haven’s fogged-up windows, the Hearthbrew Alchemist stirs a simmering pot that smells like winter holiday. Steam rises upward shaping tiny silhouettes in the air.
Design hints: cinnamon scarves, floating steam curls, charm apron, mittens, tiny spice jars.
Inspiration Note: Toasty means warm and cozy. It paints a character whose cheeks are always rosy from the fire and who might occasionally over-toast the marshmallow. Someone with a sweet energy.
3. The Bundlebug Snowpost Courier (Frostbound Dispatch) Before dawn, the Snowpost Courier is already out on the frost path, breath puffing in quick white clouds. Moves sure and steady through swirling snow, with satchel glowing faintly with letters carrying news across the village.
Design hints: layered gear, magical compass, map charms, frost-bitten satchel, tiny sleepy helper critter.
Inspiration Note: Bundlebug means someone so lovingly bundled up in layers (scarves, coats, mittens) that they look like a round, chunky, lovable winter bug so cute and huggable.
4. The Warmfaced Fireside Host (Harvest Hearth Inn)
When the cold bites hard and the wind gushes forth, the Fireside Host throws open the door with a warm smile to greet a frozen morning. Lanterns glow amber, pies cooling on the counter, and blankets stacked high.
Design hints: apron, warm lanterns, pies, crumbly animal companion, braided winter scarves.
Inspiration Note: Warmfaced means someone whose cheeks are always pink and glowing from the oven heat and the lantern light. They have that soft, welcoming presence a total comfort energy.
5. The Whiffly Winter Archivist (Frosty Folklore Library)
In silence of the Library’s great hall, the Winter Archivist moves between shelves that sparkle with frost and candlelight. Pages flutter when they pass, yearning to be chosen, and a quiet magic settles in the air
Design hintss: floating quills, snow dusted coat, candle spectacles, rune-marked pages, winter ink.
Inspiration Note: Whiffly is adorable. It suggests a gentle character who is always quietly sniffing books, candles, old paper, or ink. An endearing, quiet book sniffer

Criteria for judging
Creativity & Character Design – 40%
How unique, expressive, and visually interesting is the character? Is the design meaningful and inspired by the theme?
Theme Fit – 25%
Does the character clearly connect to the Frostfall building they were based on? Do the vibes match the winter cozy, softly magical atmosphere?
Lore / Description – 15%
Does the lore add charm, personality, or worldbuilding?
Overall Presentation – 10%
Composition, clarity, effort, style. We are not asking for perfection, just overall polish and care
Community Engagement – 10%
Supporting fellow members through thoughtful comments or whatever ways you can display this criteria.

3rd Place: 2 HIVE
Plus, depending on how many awesome entries we get, I might just give 1 HIVE per qualified honorable mention. So many chances to win.
