I was trying a new idea to draw today and I honestly have a lot of feelings about how this weird little creature came out. I so much love the intricate, swirling patterns on the face and feathers. Still working on that kind of detailed scrollwork in my line art. And those eyes... they are just so huge I tried to give them detailed lines to show focus, but maybe I overdid it and they look a bit too intense. Just keeping all my characters with the same big eyes. I played with the proportions the tiny body with the simplified arms and legs feels like it was an afterthought, probably because I got so caught up in the face details. It looks like he might just tip over so I gave him a bulky footwear, but that quirky imbalance is just the kind of thing that ends up in my drawings when I’m not carefully planning.
But u know what? Even with all the flaws and the sketchy lines, I’m just happy I actually sat down and finished a doodle today just before going to bed.
It somehow feels more like a character than my last few drawings. Just happy I got something down on paper and I’m pushing my style to try new shapes.
What kind of creature do u think this is, or do u just think he looks like he needs a hug with those big eyes?
I really like how this guy turned out! It's so well, fluffy.
