Five Years of Scratched Spontaneity

This drawing was made five years ago. I am doing a little study on my own style of drawing which could be likened to an etching or some would call scratch art. If you had been with me since that time or a frequent reader here on Draw A Day you already know what kind of art I do hahaha.

I can not believe it, this is the longest that I had stuck with a certain kind of art style. I am not that a spontaneous kind of person but all these art I do and share here are done exactly in that fashion. I do not have a structure not even a line drawing on most times unless if I need some elements in place before I start the process. What do I mean? take a look at this drawing, this is my attempt to a dtiys challenge if I recall. A Hive artist posted a drawing of the little prince and we were challenged to do it using our own style and take. Here the little prince is looking like a groggy space flyer look at his eyes. I did not have a plan on how this will result to. That is how spontaneous I can be when making this kind of art. Main subject is the little prince, I guess I was lazy to fill the canvas with details so I made my subject spread and stretched out that would explain why he is floating in that fashion. Well looking back now I can say that was my intent, I realized I really love the space theme with all random objects floating like stars, comets, debris etc. Back then I am into the naruto cloud I just love making those clouds. The forest characters are mostly inspired by this drawing but here they are not yet evident as I am showing just the lil prince and some astronauts that look like burgerheads.
