Prompt: Blooming Plant
Today’s Justdraw prompt is about Blooming Plant. and oh my brain immediately went: what if not green? I almost instinctively wanted to default to leafy green, then stopped myself and went for these deep beet that is like purple instead. Honestly, it does feel like a beet or its cousin, right? Earthy, bold, slightly wacky.
I am playing with the idea of the plant as a character instead of just a plant like on my previous bee drawing. I want to draw leafy arms that are wider and stretched out, the body is slender like a stalk, and the face is tilted up like it is looking at something. That is open for anything like maybe doing a sunbathe saying a little Gratitude maybe I’m not totally sure, but it feels happy to bloom.
This was one of those doodles where I didn’t over-polish anything but I love the face I made complete with eyebrows, nose and light cheeks . I just followed the colors and let the shape become a little creature. Blooming, but with a personality.
If you’re doing this challenge and your idea takes a different turn don't stop just go with it. That’s kind of the whole point.
