Good day, friends of the forest world and draw a day community.
I just finished today a piece for the #Charactober drawing challenge of our friend @london65. The prompt is Orchardkin.
I’m joining this Charactober challenge because I like the theme of autumn and forest characters to exlpore and develop. I want to make characters that feel like they crawled out of somewhere, could be gentle beings or force of nature. Orchardkin is an interesting creature who gives.
I started with this sketch a figure that is bent and kneeling down because of the heavy weight he is carrying on his antlers. The antlers are part of its tree like body just like a regular tree with leaves and fruits.
The fruits are varied there are grapes, apples, pears and more. I want the antlers to be full and filled with different colorful fruits to suggest abundance and this is a giving spirit of the forest.
I am playing with colors trying to keep it natural and using the colors of the forest for this being because later on I will make the fruits in different colors.
Character Name: Orchardkin
Lore:
The Orchardkin sprouts branch of antlers from its thick head and is weighed down with ripe fruit. Everywhere it goes, it brings the harvest with him. He is the giving spirit of the autumn season. But this big abundance is also a heavy burden. Its limbs are stiff from carrying unpicked fruits. The ground below its root like feet is always littered with fruits that has fallen and most are already rotten.
