I saw this scene on my feed today and it just made me stop scrolling. It looked calm and I love how the trees made a nice contrast against the white snow. I was looking for inspiration for my drawing and the trees although looking a bit lonely and a ghastly, they caught my attention.
So I immediately drew the image and slightly adding some of my own ideas to it. I don’t know how to explain it well, but the snow looked thick and soft, and it made me feel quiet too. While drawing, I just followed that feeling. My lines went simple, and the shapes turned a bit uneven, but that’s okay. It felt right for the mood.
This is my entry for SketchQuest drawing contest. I just drew the moment that stayed in my mind. Sometimes that’s enough for me to start.
Initial sketch does not show any promise and I could have easily stopped and lose interest but I kept going

When I added the third tree it gave me more hope that I can finish something that I would like

Testing this shade of blue for the background to see if it will be the right choice to make the trees and the snow stand out than blend in. I also added the fences

It was fun adding the snow to the tree on the right but the rest of the trees would be harder to flock and I thought I would cover them all with this transparent layer of snow but I was not too happy about this decision

I removed that layer of snow and added snow fall instead and darken the blue background a bit. I thought that would do the trick but

I painstakingly added snow on most branches of the trees. I think I was satisfied to see the result after stretching my patience a bit more. I am glad I made that decision and did not settle.
Hope you like my entry
