Okay, I'm back with another round of the doodle magic challenge This time, the red shape for the reference image was giving me a much spikier, more dangerous vibe than the last one. Instead of finding something cute, I decided to create the shape into the monster vibe I get by looking at it.
The original shape had these great jagged edges, which I used for the top fins and the main body structure. Then I just let my imagination run wild I gave it these massive, wide open stylized eyes and a big, toothy mouth definitely not a friendly face wahaha! The dark and smoky trails coming off the tail really make it look like it's zooming through dark water.
This piece really showcases the bold and graphic aspect of my style again. I kept the lines clean, focusing on strong red, white, and dark gray colors to make it pop against the background. It's got that minimalist monster look that I always find so cool. It’s amazing what kind of creature you can find hiding inside a simple red edgy shape?

This is the reference image as your jump off point feel free to reimagine it and join me in the doodle magic drawing challenge. Can't wait to see what you do.
