New Grips and Some New Goggles.

I'm pretty sure this season is going to be all about getting the DR ready for some longer trips. I'd like to get everything that needs to be done maintenance-wise and repair-wise, done by the end of this season. Last season I did nothing to the bike. So I guess I'm making up for last season.

My allergies have been crazy this season. I was hoping some new goggles would help keep the pollen and allergens out of my eyes. I came across this kit on Temu.

Interchangeable lens

Each lens can be changed depending on the driving conditions. Dark lens for sunny days, mirrored lens for I guess that "cool guy" look, clears for night riding, and the yellow ones for night-time too. The yellow glasses at night are actually an improvement.

Old grips were falling apart.

I needed a couple more dollars in my order for the free shipping and decided on some new handlebar grips.

Nice grips for $2

The grips were only $2 and meant as an extra item to get free shipping. Surprisingly, they're really nice for the money. Look just like the old ones, without the tears.

I did want to spend the extra money on a black and gray pair, but they were out of stock. I thought the black and gray ones would go nice with the black and gray color scheme of the bike.

I look like a dork, but my eyes aren't burning red!

I'm not sure I like the look. I did however, like the way they worked. I rode around for about thirty minutes and when I got home, my eyes were fine. Last time I tried this for a 15 minute ride, and my eyes were a burning bloodshot mess when I got home..

The last few days have been rainy, so I'm guessing the pollen count is a little lower, but I had no issues at all.

Without the goggles, my eyes were burning and bloodshot bright red. I think it has something to do with the pollen or allergens getting into my contact lenses. It doesn't happen when I wear my prescription glasses.

Truth of the matter is, I hate my prescription glasses. So hopefully, I can get back to riding with contacts again.

Hopefully, this fixes the issue. So new glasses for me, some handlebar grips for the bike. Everybody's happy!

Nice. I got me some new eye protection also..

Very nice. I bought something similar awhile back, but they weren't loud enough for the motorcycle. Probably for the better 🤣

Got to look after your eyes. Hitting a bug at speed could do some damage. Are the lenses easy to change?

OMG... LMAO... If I had dBuzz on my phone I would have posted a picture last night.

I took a ride to Niagara Falls to watch the sunset and test the goggles for some night riding. While driving along the Niagara River on the way home I drove through a swarm of super tiny bugs that practically covered both my lens.... I actually had to pull over.

It was the most disgusting thing ever🤣 I've ridden motorcycles for a really long time and NEVER experienced anything like that. If I wasn't on the side of the highway, I would have took a picture. I didn't have any tissues and had to use the corner of my shirt hem! It was nasty!

Are the lenses easy to change?

Yes they just snap into place. They're in there really good, but they snap in. I actually like them a lot. Not crazy about the look, but the functionality is there for sure.

Yuck! I've seen a lot of people say that we don't get as many bugs on our windshields these days, which is worrying for them, but you got unlucky there. They can be hard to remove. At least they were not going in your eyes.

Ride safe.
