Hello Hivers! I want to share our dine-out with you at two restaurants and some reviews about the whole experience.
It was Sunday when Aunt Carole, my mom's sister, suddenly called and invited me to eat out with her. She usually eats out since she is the only one staying at her house. It's summer, and she doesn't want to cook in her kitchen, and wants to stay in a cold place. Thus, dine at a restaurant. She wanted my husband to drive us there, so we went together with my husband and my daughter.
We dined at Sean Brick Oven Pizza. The design of the restaurant building is unassuming, but the interior is unique. A combination of rustic charm with a modern touch. Upon entering, a centerpiece plant is a notable attraction in the center. On the right side of the restaurant, they serve Japanese-style and on the left is the typical Western-style dishes.
Hmm...Sanitize first.
This is their iconic signage.
These are fake plant decorations. These decorative plants may be artificial and sustainable, but I still prefer real ones—even if they require care and attention.
At the back of that is the comfort room. I like the unique shape of the vases in the washing area.
Brown chairs are padded seats taht make them comfortable. I love those different cute lamp displays.
This is a real plant. This plant stands gracefully unique at the corner of the restaurant, bringing a refreshing touch of greenery to the warm dining space.
There are cloth decorations with the word IKIGAI written on them. IKIGAI is the Japanese way of living. The very essence of being alive. For the Japanese, life is for a purpose. Your habits and routine should be productive, and you should have an active lifestyle. In that way, life is meaningful and beautiful. That is a thoughtful touch.
And seeing reserved tables suggests that this place values quality.
Another set of dining tables is inside this restaurant.
A refrigerated display case stocked with fresh salads in bowls, along with a variety of beverages
We ordered rice meals- beef, chicken, and pork, salad, and sushi. Our drinks include fresh juices, such as cucumber lemon, mango smoothie, and Coke.
The beef is soft, tender, juicy, and so tasty, while the vegetables are cooked just right, not overcooked.
Buttered turmeric rice and chicken in white sauce with some vegetables and slices of corn. The other one is pork ribs. It is tasty and tender, though I prefer it not to be sweet.
I love their salad, and the sauce makes it even yummier. The sushi is fresh and not stocked, made with real sticky rice.
The food was fantastic and they have big servings. We were fully satiated.
The counter has a distinct black and white floor tile. We chose to sit here because the padded chairs are comfortable and Auntie likes to be in a cold area. The air conditioner is just behind our backs. I'm glad it was not too cold inside because I didn't bring a jacket.
Just when we decided to go home, Auntie wasn't satisfied with the sushi and salad she had eaten. She wanted to eat pizza. So, we headed to a European pizza house. It is just one block away, a simple restaurant that serves a variety of flavors of pizza.
They use mozzarella cheese. I like the taste of their pizza, but I prefer Sean Brick Oven's pizza more. It's more delicious, and the toppings are good too.
We rushed home because I still had classes to attend.
A weekend filled with good food always makes for great memories. I was late for my evening class. Haha... But we enjoyed everything we did and talked about. Auntie's gonna go back to the US. We made sure to make time for her.
What a lot of eating that weekend.
Thank you for reading my blog.
Be healthy, you all!
Mapapasanaol naman tayo dyan sis. Sanaol may auntie na nagyayaya. Enjoy your food, sis. The place is cozy, and the setting is perfect for a good meal to share with your aunt and family.
Hehe teach, yes my auntie has no children and is old na that's why we make sure to be here for her. Thanks a lot for swinging by, teach!

Hey, @justinparke here. Sorry for the inconvenience, but my family and I arrived in the USA and for several days we were busy getting over jetlag and visiting family. Now I am back to voting and curating, but will be voting at roughly 50% less than normal until I am caught up again. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope for all to be back to normal within 48 hours.
