Youka shopping Mart
Today was the day everyone in our city was eagerly waiting for. It was November 24, the opening day of the new store, Youka Shopping Mart. As residents of our place, we only had two supermarkets- Super Metro owned by Gaisano, and Savemore located at Leah Mall owned by Pansoy. So, the news of a new store opening had everyone excited.

There were rumors that the new store would be a department store like Kaking, where we could find household furniture and appliances at a cheaper price. Finally, at exactly 8:00 am, the store opened. There were lots of flowers outside the store and big arc balloons with a dragon design on them.
A short program was organized, where dancers performed a Chinese dance, followed by the cutting of ribbons with the owners and our very own City Mayor Valdemar Choing. Then, the priest went inside to have a blessing. Soon enough, they allowed people who were waiting outside, including me start shopping. I had gone there very early to witness the opening.

As I entered the store, I was amazed by how big it was. It had three floors with escalators and elevators. There were lots of displays, ranging from appliances to kitchenware. everything was available inside with different kinds to choose from. I went to the second floor first to look around and see what I might buy.

There were plates, artificial flowers, and vases, followed by plastic wares and frames. There were also clothes hangers and hampers, as well as cabinets, tables, and chairs. All items were available at a 50% discount.

As I strolled a little longer, many people were coming in. I went to the third floor and found lots of dolls on display. It was the toys and school supplies section, plus lots of shoes and slippers. However, I did not take any pictures of them. I remembered that my husband wanted me to buy new curtains for our church windows, so I went to look for a different design. It was also available at a 50% discount. I bought four pieces and a spray bottle for my puppies.

The cashier was on the ground floor, so I went down to pay. As I went down, I saw all the counters were full of people falling in line, and more people wanted to come in. Christmas decorations were also displayed, offering a 20% discount. I waited for 30 minutes until my turn. The people were very glad to have this store in our town, so we would no longer have to travel to Talisay to visit stores like this.

After paying, I went home and promised to come back again next time. It was a nice experience and we have lots of products to choose from, especially with Christmas coming. Toys for kids and household items for gift-giving are available at cheaper prices. There are also shirts, blouses, and undergarments. Your eyes cannot be satisfied with all the products displayed around.

A lot of Filipinos love socializing. We came to see and buy products even if they were not that necessary. As long as we are happy and enjoying what we do, then why not go for it?
