Yesterday Indonesian Football National Team just lost to Iraq and we failed to qualify for the World Cup. It was a dream shattered situation, as an Indonesian and as the last representation from the South East Asia too. I guess by the quality and competences, we are still far from the rest of the World Cup final round participants.
I believe you find this weird that I do not post about foods this time. I like football, I frequently watch live football in weekend. Qualifying for a World Cup is our dream, and I believe if we manage to do it, it will boost up other South East Asian countries too. We compete tightly with Malaysia, Vietnam and Filipina for years, so if one of us here manage to qualify for the final round, others should be pumped up in spirit and believe they can do it too in the next round because of our tight and fierce competitiveness we show during our matches with each other.
Naturalization is always a hot topic for some debates here, regarding majority of Indonesian players are taken from Dutch naturalization. We know very well how bad our national league right now, which we have limited fund, sponsors and very bad young players development. So Naturalization becomes a solid solution for instant result.
I won't talk about our former head coach,Shin Tae Yong, regarding he already repleced with Patrick Kluivert. Kluivert came in the middle of the tournament, in the round 3rd when Shin Tae Yong already lead the team in the mid table.
Whenever you replace someone in the middle, it means only two thing. First the project fails, or you believe it is already useless so you want to prepare longer than what it is supposed to be. This is not the case for the head coach replacement, regarding we are already near qualified for the next round.
So it means the second one, which we want to guarantee or to secure the result. We want to make sure to qualify at any cost, and the result is not as we have expected.
I think there is something Indonesia Football must see, and I think not only limited to Indonesian, other countries can learn from this case too. It is the fault, whose fault is this?
So am I blaming somoene here? Yes for sure. The replacement is a failure, so every failures come with two things... whose fault it is and whose responsibility it is.
Talking whose fault is very hard at the moment, not because we don't know whom he is, but more like it will lead to political issue debate. I do not like politic talks, it only brew hatred and disagreement and ruining friendship over time.
So I will talk about responsibility here... It is head coach responsibility, so whoever he is, he must out or fired. Yes Patrick Kluiver must out!
With the given time, he failed to perform. His failure is indicated by failing to qualify for the 5th rounds or to the final round. Well he could be in bad luck, right? I think it's not like that, and I believe he fails in his job which is shown by these facts:
He kept changing formations and line up in his games, as if he had not known which one was the best one.
Favoritism towards certain players who were clearly not our best players.
Stubbornness with his favorite game play, even when it failed to work.
He put players out from their best position, and asking them playing in what they could not do best. Winger as side back, central midfield as winger, and so on.
He put his distance toward players, he did not blend well with them.
I could go more with this points, but I will stick with my conclusion here. He must out, he must be fired. It is his only responsibility and no excuse should be used to save his ass this time.
Whose fault is our lost here? Definitely politicians who asked for a replacement. I can accept if we play our best and lose the game, but it is unacceptable during the most crucial games, we are trying some thing new because someone wants to win in a beautiful Netherlands total football style.
