I am away from my country but I can't celebrate so much when majorities are having a difficult time... I couldn't agree more, those were the people who really had a tough encounter sharing their struggles and stories, and they deserve to be rewarded! I would continue helping the people in the provinces as they have fewer resources: food, water, electricity, some people travel to the city to seek help and less organization available there... it is sad but we have to rise. This too shall pass. Thank you for sharing your concern @justinparke and whatever contribution the HIVE community offered, we are still grateful. :))

You are in the Netherlands, correct? Wow, my Cambodian family and were living in (stranded) Suriname for the last three years, but I finally managed to get a visa back to Cambodia so we can reunite. Do you speak some Dutch? I never learned much, but I learned more of the Suriname creole, they call it Taki Taki.
yes I just migrated here 2 years ago. I am currently learning the Dutch language for my daughter so I'm still slowly building up. :) Congratulations @justinparke for a visa approved. Nothing feels like home when you are with your loved ones. Btw, suriname food is delicious, I've tried a few of the dishes!!! Have a wonderful holiday!
How funny, there is a restaurant called Roopram Roti that is in the Netherlands and Suriname. We used to eat at it very often, a kind of roti fast-food shop.
