Apl.De.Ap and Blacklist Members Graced the PH Web3 Festival Day 3

Hello, hivers!

This will probably be the last I will be writing about the recently concluded Web3 Festival. A lot of things and talks happened in the event that I had to publish them in chunks. In fact, at the start of the conference, my boyfriend and I are joking about the number of panelists/speakers (there are just a lot of topics discussed about Web3 that each was alotted only 20 mins be it a key note, fireside or panel!)

Day 3 Conference was also the last but definitely not the least because YGG & BlockchainSpace invited a lot of guests from the NFT and gaming space, Apl.De.Ap and Blacklist members being the most that brought craze to the audience.

SDD - Web3Fest3 1.pngThe conference started with a panel of Filipino women in crypto, which honestly is very informative, entertaining, and inspiring as well.

As soon as the host announced the next guest, the hall was filled with applause and cheers. It was none other then Allan Pineda a.k.a. Apl.De.Ap of Black Eyed Peas. Apl.De.Ap is a Fil-Am rapper/singer who always incorporates Filipino vibe to his songs.

In a fireside chat with Leah Callon-Butler of Emfarsis, he shared the story of how he first became interested with NFTs, to releasing his own NFT collection and his vision for Web3 in the future.SDD - Web3Fest3 3.png

After the chat, he turned the conference into a concert by performing his hit song "Bebot" and his newly released song, "Filipina Queen".

After the "free concert" performance, he was joined on stage with YGG CEO, Gabby Dizon, and BlockchainSpace founder, Peter Ing, together with Sevi (10-year old NFT artist whose artwork was featured in Times Square New York) and his mom, to announce that YGG is donating one million pesos to Apl.De.Ap foundation.

The performance was followed by key note speaker brian Lu of Infinitty Ventures Crypto.SDD - Web3Fest3 7.png

After a short break, another panel was invited on stage to discuss The Driving Force to Content Creation, Tier One company with their talents.

The audience went wild because two of the guests are from Blacklist International, the champion of last year's international Mobile Legends tournament.

Johnmar Villaluna a.k.a. OhMyV33Nus is the team Captain of Blacklist international. Danerie Rosario, a.k.a. Wise is the jungler of the team. They are collectively known as VeeWise.

Together with the company's CEO, Tryke Gutierrez, and fellow talent from Tier One, Tricia Potato, they answered and discussed topic on content creation and their thoughts on Web2 transition to Web3.

People wanting to take a photo after the panel rushed to the side of the stage. It was a crazy beautiful chaos.SDD - Web3Fest3 12.png

Other panel discussions were delivered as follows:

It was followed by a fireside chat. For Sandbox, Peter Ing had a chat with Miccolo Solis, a community manager of Sandbox community in the Philippines. Nas.io fireside chat was delivered by Jacqueline Lim of Nas Academy Philippines and YGG's Kookoo.

Jen Bilango of BlockchainSpace also went on stage to talk about Guild Hub.SDD - Web3Fest3 24.png

Finally, Katrina Gonzales from YGG and Peter Ing from BlockchainSpace made the final talk on What's Next for Web3 in the Philippines.

Being the epicenter of Web3 adoption, the speakers are seeing a promising future for the Philippines. Other speakers even mentioned that despite the crypto winter, this event shows that people are so bullish in adopting to the transition to Web3 specially here in the Philippines.

The Philippine Web3 Festival is the biggest Web3 gathering this 2022 and the reception is really warm with the mix of both local and foreign attendies.

Quite frustrating there was no mention of Hive here (or a speaker) despite Steem was one of the earliest ways the Filipinos were able to learn about crypto. In around 2017-2018 Philippine community was very active so I don't know if they even mentioned that in Filipinos' crypto history at all.

Same, I felt sad that no Hive speaker is went on stage. Hopefully next year.
