I always seek for spiritual experiences such as miracles and the opportunity to learn and serve the Lord in whatever way I can. One Sunday I visited this place and I was surprised that they do not have accompanist for the singing of hymns so I volunteered. The leaders were very warm and accommodating, I like this kind of feeling that you are being welcomed in a place wherein you are not familiar of the people around.
The hymns were already placed, the members were used to minus one because they do not have a ward pianist. They were surprised of the live music during that time and they sang gracefully.
I like the hymn selection, I was familiar of it all. I felt good when I started playing the prelude until the postlude. It was therapeutic to me to serve the people I visited through music, I have this rewarding feeling when I was able to share my talent in the place where nobody was familiar of me and I volunteered for musical accompaniment. The same feeling when I visited Hongkong during my birthday. It was a memorable experience. The branch president even requested me to do the accompaniment for the entire week because his wife is the only branch pianist.
I like the invitation of the branch president and I was thinking of returning to Hongkong for that matter just to try to be the accompanist for the whole week. I love that idea.
As long as I can arrive early in a place where there is no accompanist, I am ready to serve as a volunteer musician.
The brother beside me is the cousin of my first piano teacher.
This place is quite far from my home so I tried to wake up early so I can ride the free bus going there.
It was nice experience to be there.
My beautiful cousin endorsed me to play for the Temple Open House next year. I am also teaching her sons piano lessons for free.
