That whole moving back and forth between lanes is something I would love to do but honestly, it would confuse and perhaps upset most of the people in our group. Plus I don't know if the lanes here can even do that, I mean, I presume that their technology can do that since lane computers are the same everywhere, but the staff probably have no idea that it can do that.

That is a good point, we had to keep score by hand, so it was easier to do the lane switch thing. I think the computers can handle it because that is usually how they run most leagues and tournaments. I think anyway. As small as your alley is, it might not make sense anyway.
