Welcome to Guindulman's Tire Playground

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY3 years ago

Two barangay units had made efforts in bringing joy to kids and those who are kids at heart in our town. It's been years since the people of our town had been hoping that we would also have a park where kids could play and enjoy.

Late last year, a tire park was finally made and I had to bring the kids there to experience this tire park.

Why is it called Tire Park?

Notice that I made up this name but it is because the playground's main material in constructing are tires, used ones in fact. I must commend the resourcefulness of the two barangays that had made this possible.

What's good about this is that they had reused these supposed garbage materials already. That means a help at least lessen the garbage of the town.

In line with the garbage disposal issue of our town, I am glad that the no plastic bag policy had already been imposed. So all stores are now required to use paper bags and those customers must bring their own containers for fish and other wet goods.

What to See at the Tire Park?

Upon reaching the playground park, the kids went straight to playing.

  • Seesaw
They went first with the seesaw. The seesaw was made of hard wood. The base has a tire filled with cement. This is a hit for the kids!

  • Piko
If you are a Filipino, you would be familiar with this game as most Filipino kids would play piko. This game can be played alone or by group and one would need balance and accuracy when throwing the marker, mostly used is a stone.

  • Climbing Tires
A few tires were assembled together with a cord and kids could climb up here. The only issue that I had for this one is that there's no safety landing in case of accidents. Still, parents should supervise their kids when playing.

  • Swing
Look at how they made the tires into this pair of swings. They used thick tree branches or perhaps a trunk and it can carry even adults!

  • Benches and Tables
There were also benches and tables where kids could dine in. There are stores around so when we visited the playground, we bought a few snacks and ate there.

I would also like to say that there's a great view of the horizon. The playground faces the east thus a sunrise view would be great here too.

That's it folks! Thank you for reading!

Very creative use of the tires. Also it's very cool this location is on the waterfront, making it a nice place for families to take their kids. Our town in Cambodia had a waterfront park similar to this, and every evening families would come to exercise and let their kids play.
