We have rescued a lot of dogs over the past 4 years and we like to believe that we, along with the help of some of our neighboring institutions such as Lanta Animal Welfare and The Soi Dog Foundation in Phuket, that we have made a real difference to the well-being and quality of life for the animals of this part of Thailand.
Here are some photos from the recent past that stick out in my mind as being special.
It looks cute but this duck bill is actually a muzzle because a lot of the dogs that we bring in for treatments are very afraid and even though what we are doing for them is for their own good they sometimes lash out and try to bite us. We have to be very careful.
Shots of pups being reunited with mum always make me happy!
This photo was a special moment in time because it was when we partnered with the monks at this particular temple and our decision to work together has made everything at that temple a lot easier to manage. From that day they stay in contact with us to let us know about any problems or new additions to the pack there. This would be nearly impossible for us to manage without their help.
It isn't always easy for us to win over the dogs at various areas and get them to trust us. Even though we have their best interests in mind dogs are very territorial and especially with dogs that have been abused they are reluctant to trust humans. It takes some time but with some tenderness and of course a little bit of chicken, they learn that we are not there to hurt them.
This one makes me smile when I see it because the monks at these temples miss their favorite dogs when we take them away for surgery or other treatment. The look of joy on his face makes me happy as well.
Lastly, we have a pic of this little cutie. We focus primarily on dogs at Krabi Animal Welfare but we also help as many cats as we possibly can. They are just a bit trickier to help because they tend to be solitary creatures rather than existing in packs. It is difficult to imagine but someone abandoned this little cute kitty. Thankfully the kitten was quickly adopted and is now enjoying a forever home in Thailand.

The photographs are really amazing. But I like the last beautiful dog picture. You said you have rescued many dogs over the past four years and you have taken good care of them. The similarity of the puppy with the mother is amazing. You have presented a very nice post. Wish you all the best.
you must be a cat lover then :) Yes that cat was truly lovely and we were so happy that someone adopted it.
It look like a duck and the dog is very cute to wearing it. That kind of thing is really important, we can't avoid some of the dogs afraid feelings or aggressive and a chance to bite us. So it is really better to use and wear that on dogs.

We could have put a regular muzzle oh the dog but we do enjoy having a little bit of fun while we are doing our work. IN the end this dog learned to trust us but it can be a bit difficult at the start.
Amazing how quickly animals can heal and you have posted some horrific injuries over the last few years. They are all happy endings due to your intervention which is amazing.
