Good day hivers! For today's blog was all about the practice, preparation, and the day of contest. Let's goo!!!
May 6,2025. One of the Sanguniang Kabataan Councilor message me about the dance competition in our Barangay. And each Sitio's or Purok's must have atleast one or two representative. And I've "if it's there's a lot of interested Youth in our Purok, I will guide them". But sadly, there are few youth are available three or four and they are not interested. Also I can't guide them since our class was 8AM to 4PM plus travel. And I don't have enough time to guide them.
And the other day, I was shocked that there are a lot of children was interested. First I ask them if they get permission by their parents and they said yes. But still I don't have enough time and it will be presented on May 19,2025. Luckily one of my dancers has an idea of the dance. By the way, the Theme of the dance was PHILIPPINE TRADITION. And they, "they can practice every afternoon" so that it was not hot too much.
Then they recommend music's and I will going to mix it. And I ask the Sanguniang Kabataan coordinator if it's ok if my dancers is children. She said it was ok and we can hired trainor if we want. And I refused since we have a lack of budget HAHAHA.
2-3 days I can see their improvements and dedication. But still their are some children can't catch up. And there are Damon blank moments HAHAHA. Let me share something HAHAHA. While in practice blank moment, I "said back to dance" means continue dancing. But two of my dancers run away HAHAHA. They thought from the top but continue dancing HAHA. I told them to rest for a while HAHAHA.
During weekend when we are done in practice, I gave the a time to play. And even I was joined playing them. We played hide and sick, running, bato Lata and many more. Or where making food trip like cooking banana with "ginamos" or bagoong isda🤤. And they have a lot of trip like catching the body of banana HAHAHA.
MAY 13, 2025 I've set a meeting for them. We decided what t-shirt and pant color they use. I choose red and blue t-shirt, the red one is on left line and the blue one is in the right line. And at the pant I recommend black but if they don't have atleast they wear a jeans. I announced earlier so the can find and prepare their things early.
May 18,2025, props making. We use all available things that we have at our home. We use rice sack, woods, used cardboard, woods and many more. I bought blue and red plastic and rubber band and we will make pompom. I want to buy also a red and blue Bandana Scarf, but sadly I don't have enough budget. And not all of them can buy the scarf. And we're done almost 8 PM and I need to guide them to their home one by one. Of course safety first since it was night already.
MAY 19, 2025 FINAL PRACTICE AND FINAL PRESENTATION. The call time was 6 PM since we need to walk to our barangay. And they put make up's by them selves and tie their hair. And I told them to eat first before going at our meeting place so they have energy. Then when we all gathered we pray and then start walking.
When we arrive at our barangay, we have a problem. Our back drop was ruin while we're walking😭😭. But I'm still calm since the lettering was still their. And the event was so late start. The schedule was 8 PM and the event was started at 9 PM😭😭. And it has two events, the youth night and miss gay. Then we are the third participants.
The other participants was already done so it's our turn. When they start dancing, the music was so low music. And one of my dancer was slide (when talent portion of Ms gay, their is a participant use water for her talent) but he still continue dancing. Because of that coincident, a lot of my dancers lost in focus. And their formation was ruin for a while, but still they continued dancing. When the already done dancing, they run to me and I said "it's ok, and you do your best". And I told them we took photos outside the gym.
Announcing of winners almost 11 PM😭. And still we got 3rd place. And their are only 4 participants. We are still happy receiving our certificate and the money we won.
While walking home, we are so happy atleast we achieve 3rd placer. And we decide what we are going to do with the cash prize. And they said they want to devide to each other and the extra money we will make food trip.
At the end, they have a lot of realization. And they said they will go back next year with full of confidence and more prepared. And I was SO SO SO PROUD OF THEM ALL. They do their best so no need to be mad or disappoint.

It's kinda tired teaching children to dance and to be honest I wasn't know too much in dancing. But if they are more interested, I can do my best for them. Thank you✨.
