In fact, they recruit young soldiers, and because it is the longest secret war in the world today (1949-2021) and the Burmese are doing a real genocide on them. The Karens have a special law for recruits, each family has to give one child for the army man or woman above 16 years old but there is also some joining as they think it is the right thing to do. They are today about 18 000 freedom fighters Karen and more than 10 000 young Burmese that have recently joined to fight the coup against the young democracy done by the Myanmar army.
