My scooter's second service

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY2 years ago

These past two months, I was doing a part-time gig as a food delivery rider. Due to that, the oil change maintenance came earlier than I expected. The maintenance was supposed to come in another month.

Before heading to the office, I stop by a motorbike workshop that is nearby my housing area. I have known the existence of this workshop from the first month I moved to the area. But I never once sent my motorbike there.

This is because this workshop specialized in moped and scooter maintenance and repair. Previously, I rode a 600cc sport-cruiser motorbike. Not all workshop has the expertise to service that motorbike.

Since i am now riding a 150cccanI can send my scooter for maintenance at the workshop. During the pandemic, an appointment needs to be booked in advance for maintenance. Now I can just walk in without an appointment. It will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

At the workshop, a maximum of 4 motorbikes can be serviced at one time. When I arrived at the workshop, there was another three (3) motorbike that was currently being serviced. Just my luck left another slot available.

I was then instructed by the mechanic to place my scooter on top of the motorbike ramp and I need to ensure my scooter is properly situated inside the yellow box area. After positioning my scooter accordingly, the mechanic then proceeds to secure the front tire using a clamp that is a part of the motorbike ramp.

After ensuring that my scooter is secured, the mechanic then proceed to press a button on the control panel. The motorbike ramp then slowly rises and stops at the mechanic waist level. The mechanic then proceeds to put a cylinder tube at bottom of the motorbike ramp.

The cylinder tube has two hoses on top of the lid. One of the hoses was put inside of my scooter engine oil chamber, and another hose was attached to the air pump. The mechanic then presses the air pump switch. I can see the old engine oil being sucked from my scooter into the cylinder tube.

After a few minutes, the mechanic then checks for the old engine oil inside the engine oil chamber. When he is sure that the old engine oil has cleared. He then proceeds to pour a new bottle of engine oil.

I choose premium engine oil and gear oil for my scooter. The total for engine oil and services was MRY60. Still consider cheap if compared with my previous motorbike services fee.

What amazed me was, there is no oil spill. Not even a bit. The workshop area was squeaky clean from oil spill. The mechanic also cleans both of my disk breaks without any additional charges.
