Somehow it tastes like grass

It was Saturday when I decided to get out of the house and do some boring, mundane things. My favorite library here will be closed for about two weeks, due to a stock inventory taking and things like that. So, I went to a cafe that’s not too far from my house. I've written reviews about this cafe in another community not a long time ago. My plan for that day was to order my usual drink and snack. Maybe I'm a habitual person, so I rarely try anything new once I've found my “go-to” option.

However, that day, they were out of burgers, which is the snack I usually get as a bundle with a pair of brown sugar latte. So, I looked at other discounted packages, but for some reason my eyes caught a drink menu called “Matcha De Coco”. It's basically matcha, milk, and coconut water. I was curious what it would taste like, so I ended up ordering it.
Matcha is still popular these days, and it seems like many cafes are creating their own signature matcha menu. So, I thought I could never go wrong with an iced matcha latte, and it seemed even more refreshing with coconut water.

But when I tried it, why it tasted like grass>< Maybe it’s because I'm used to matcha drink sachets that have high sweetener or something, but this combination tastes really strange for me. I immediately regretted ordering it instead of coffee. Drinking it while there were ice cubes was weird enough, but trying it after the ice melted is the worst, at least in my opinion.

But it’s okay because that way, maybe I won’t order any matcha menu from this cafe other than the matcha espresso which my friend had before, and I remember it tasted good. After doing some tasks, I ordered fried rice. It was Javanese fried rice, but I didn’t even notice any difference from the regular one. Maybe next time I should try their pastries.

Now, one of the reasons I like this cafe is the specific corner that is rarely opted by visitors. Maybe it’s because the chair doesn't look comfortable for working, but also because it's in a semi-outdoor area with a glass roof where the sunlight seems to shine through. However, I like it haha because for me it’s like an introvert corner😅 This cafe isn’t very large, so when I tried to sit in the indoor area, the noise of other visitors felt quite disturbing to my preference. Since there's also a van attached to the ceiling, keeping the air cool, I often choose to sit in this corner surrounded by refreshing greenery.

It’s a completely rambling blog at this point but on that particular day, I was working on an article about running events scheduled in my province for December. And did you know, in my city alone, there are more than 5 running events within a month. I know running is really becoming increasingly popular now, just like matcha😂
is it the same in your area? Are there many running events scheduled even before the new year? Even though I don't run, besides the physical health benefits, I also appreciate the growth of the run communities as well. It’s nice to see more people finally find their community that enjoy doing similar activities like them, right?

Anyway, if you’ve read this far, thanks a lot😁 I know this post is super messy, but lately I wonder if I write more about daily boring routines just to practice my consistency in writing English, but also to see if I can find ways to make it less boring by learning new vocabulary and such. Maybe people can't see it for now, but I'll try hehe. Well, that’s it for today. Have a nice day, hivers! :)
Thanks for the headups about the Matcha De Coco! 😃 In general, I'm not a coffee person, but recently, I began to create a small "ritual" similar to yours... Going to the same bar/cafe (creature of habit), finding my introvert part of the room, ordering a regular coffee (maybe I should try matcha 🤔), and doing my daily stuff on the computer...
On the other side, I do try to find another cafe, to break this routine, but I have the same problem as you... Those chairs aren't super-comfy, but that introvert corner and quietness are... 😂
